mick1396
Quite a few waters have banned it tho Si,as they class it as a bent hook rig.

beanz
its just a long curved bit of shrink tube it makes a G shape when finished if the shank is laying flat and point is above shank then the line is about an inch above point of hook these are destructions and not really instructions :D
mick1396
The one that Si is on about is basically a curved longshank I think,I`ve got a couple of them somewhere but don`t like the look of `em.

neilscatchin
The Withy Pool rig is no more a "bent" hook rig than the line aligner and is a very effective rig for pop ups when used correctly. It's like Beanz says basically it's a hook with a 180 degree curve of shrink tubing weighted either on the end of the tubing or on the braid to counterbalance/criically balance a pop up. Personally I'd only use it where the fish have "wised" up to regular pop up rigs as it may be over complicating things on a runs water.Looks crude and ineffective but I guarantee you 99% of bites are converted to strong hookholds bang in the middle of the bottom lip. maxwell999
The original withy is a bent hook rig and as such shouldnt be used but the modern take which is one that i use is a piece of shrink tubing with a curve steamed into it use a cork to put the curve ini ts a good presentation and works well i do recomend clear tubing or it can be a little crude
