tigernuttom
see the rig tying section, the top thread is on the 360. but i wudnt use it at all, all will become clear if you read that one
carpingod150
Try the search mate, a thread has come up recently on that. But TBH if you're not sure how to use it, I wouldn't use it at all. Ask yourself, do you really need to use it in your fishing situation, it has been known to cause unnecessary damage to the Carp's mouth
jemsue5
Its a big fish rig dont use it on doubles/runs waters.
carpingod150
Its a big fish rig dont use it on doubles/runs waters. Yep, although a lot of people will disagree, this is the general concensus on the rig

goblin
does as much damage as the original bent hook rig mate, if fishing for 25lb+ fish solely then fine, otherwise steer clear
carpingod150
Yeah, people seem to have this preconcieved idea that its the spinning of the rig that does the damage, when in fact, if damage is caused at all, it is mostly to do with the hook pattern. A normal rig tied with this style of hook (lets say fox series 5) would still do damage if its played the same way as with the 360 rig I know a lot of people would disagree about the damage, I think it's Levisgp who has posted before about his views on this, it's actually in the other thread on the 360 rig
goblin
lots of conflicting statements fly round about this rig and hook patterns. a rig should spin and turn otherwise its a badly developed idea. I dont thin for one minute that frank (judging by his sensible approach to posts and general comments) would commit to a rig unless he was totally confident that it works.....SAFELY. problems arise when you put inexperienced anglers on the end of a rod fishing for pasties, and the biggest disgrace is using it in a barbless form...................barbaric
carpingod150
That's gonna open up the barbed v barbless can'o'worms now I'm all for barbed BTW, but most blinkered fishery managers cannot see whats best for the fish
goblin
fish a heavily and i mean HEAVILY weeded water as I do with barbless and you need castrating with a spoon, and I will gladly do it

I use the rig knowing that it is safe in my hands, and I only use it with barbed hooks. coincidently I always use barbed hooks if possible.
