Deano 74 Posted December 12, 2024 Report Posted December 12, 2024 Just seen the British record Barbel as been broken from the kings weir stretch on the river Lea 22lb 1oz Wow that's some fish Quote
Golden Paws Posted December 12, 2024 Report Posted December 12, 2024 https://www.anglingtimes.co.uk/news/stories/the-british-barbel-record-has-been-obliterated/ That's an impressive fish. Big barbel rarely have that massive droopy belly that some big carp have. In the pursuit of big fish, is a Billy Bunter better than an Olympic athlete? Quote
Deano 74 Posted December 13, 2024 Author Report Posted December 13, 2024 Just seen that the river lea as done it's 2nd 20lb + Barbel in just a matter off weeks Wonder if the amount of crayfish in the lea are a factor in the size off these Barbel Quote

Dian Posted December 17, 2024 Report Posted December 17, 2024 That’s an incredible catch! A 22lb 1oz Barbel is definitely something to brag about. I’ve fished the River Lea a few times, and while it’s got some great spots, I can’t imagine pulling in something that big. Quote
