12' 6" Greys Distance Spod Plus Rod Model: 1326856 Reference: HGC10050516

HI, 

has anyone had any experience of this spod rod? I thought as its 12 '6 it may help spodding by being that 6" longer than my 12' rods?

Nah but I have used the Greys GT Extreme Spod which I believe is similar but in 13 ft. Heavy, but puts the spod a long way.

thanks, have you ever used either of these two below? it will be for both spodding and marking so really want one as light as possible.  budgets 200 - 300. cheers

No, sorry.

The Century is quite an old model and the heavier duty Century rods do tend to be quite beefy so I expect that might be heavy but very good quality.

The Daiwa is a more modern blank so I'd expect that to be lighter. Also decent quality.

I had the Greys 12.6 Distance Marker, gotta say I hated it from day one, so tip heavy, completely unbalanced.

Spod wise I recently replaced my old Greys 12ft Spod with 'The Tackle Box's' Spod rod after reading a price bracket rod testing review, it won the mid and top end groups.  Cost about £160 - not used it loads yet but like it a lot. 👍

I had one of those ages ago. I think it was even cheaper back then. Great rod for the money 👍
