elmoputney Posted February 16, 2019 Report Posted February 16, 2019 I've spent a while looking at boilie guns and decided the Gardner ones are either not great (plastic) I did own one and it wasn't all that great tbh, or too pricey metal ones, so I've found a cheap caulking gun on eBay with steel tube and I am going to try this they look virtually the same as the others but at a fraction of the cost ? Anyone else done this ? Will let you know how I get on anyway once it arrives, Quote
The Anglin' Brothers Posted February 17, 2019 Report Posted February 17, 2019 I suspect that's where things started out before various companies started to market them as angling equipment. I'll be doing the same myself bud so thumbs up from me! elmoputney 1 Quote
salokcinnodrog Posted February 17, 2019 Report Posted February 17, 2019 Reckon you will find many caulking guns are exactly the same as tackle manufacturer bait guns. elmoputney 1 Quote
pukkacarp Posted February 18, 2019 Report Posted February 18, 2019 (edited) i use a caulking gun and it works perfectly use the normal caulking nozzles too just cut them to correct size using jr hacksaw i also use a cheap plastic tube, once boilie mixture has been squeezed through i'll use a bank stick or anything long and thin to push the plunger back out so i can re use Edited February 18, 2019 by pukkacarp elmoputney 1 Quote
elmoputney Posted February 22, 2019 Author Report Posted February 22, 2019 I picked up my gun today from the post office only had a quick look but it looks a solid piece of kit and probably very similar to the Gardner ones will do a more detailed review when I get to test it Quote
elmoputney Posted February 22, 2019 Author Report Posted February 22, 2019 Nasty coffee and a 16mm nozzle anyone ? I even got the verniers out 16mm +/- 0.1mm inside diameter and linished for a smooth finish, were sausaging all over the world Quote
elmoputney Posted February 23, 2019 Author Report Posted February 23, 2019 New gun worked well, cleaned up ok and didn't really struggle to make a sausage,I could almost fit a 500g mix in the tube I didn't take any pics though as I was a little pushed for time, but it saved me about £30 on Gardner's pricing , the model I bought is a newborn 620al on eBay for £10.95 plus postage at present, so I hope as it represents value it's ok to mention it, kevtaylor, salokcinnodrog and harpz_31 3 Quote
