I actually saw these working today (2 runs) and was mighty impressed with them.

Although these are way before my first Carp adventures i believe some of you may remember them.

Mick the owner said they have an avesion to the rain ( nothings changed there then lol )

Now I see, I didn't look close enough before and thought it had a wheel.  Vast improvement over a stack of coins perched on the spool over a coffee can.

I can remember buying Herons in the 1980's before upgrading to Optonics.

Regularly bending the arm back to shape or to try to avoid false bites in wind.

I tried them but got fed up with the length of extension cord i needed to plug em in, I use the ones that take Batteries now !

i had the newfangled ones that came with a powerpac :o:lol:
