I used to DREAM of catching a 20lb Carp . Actually just lately ANY Carp .

 

Pete , I sympathise also.

 

I know you specified lake but have you tried the Trent ?

Have you had a look at cromwell lake does get busy as it's a popular venue for anglers up that way & further a field. But it does hold fish well over 40 lb & has a good head of 30's . Probably with in 30 / 40 minutes from Nottingham.

Facilities are second to none crystal clear lake can get weedy & is by no means an easy lake, everyone who has attended socials there over the years will testify to that

 

It's gets mentioned on the carp cast a fair bit as Jamie clossick fishes it a fair bit . Might be worth a look for you .

Think I going try cromwell this weekend going make time and wet me rods as been over a year for me as kit got robbed

Have you phoned them ?

I think I'm right in saying you might have to book on these days . I've only ever fished there on complete lake bookings on socials. Best phone them to avoid a wasted journey.

pete if you want to be catching 20lb fish on a regular basis you need to be joining a syndicate mate

theres a place in Ilkeston called manor floods but its got about a 2 year waiting list

I haven't fished it for about 5 years but I had my first 30 from there and countless 20lb'ers
