johnplumb Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 I would hope that would be fine , i'd bet no one checks anyway Quote
Gaz Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 some allow it and some dont tbh. a water i now fish allows the barb to be crimped but others i know dont so you better off asking the owner/club/syndi Quote
yipikiaye Posted April 26, 2012 Author Report Posted April 26, 2012 ok awesome thanxs for your help . also iv never found a lake that allows barbed hooks so can anyone tell me why they make barbed hook fishing rigs. Quote
marty_h Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 The last 2 waters I have fished have been compulsory barbed hooks only. In my opinion they give a better hook hold and less likely to damage the fish ( as long as they are unhooked correctly ) you should also be able to buy barbless rigs I would be looking at making your own rigs you will find they are better then of the shelf rigs as you can then adjust them yourself Quote
rosstheangler Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 I prefer barbed but, most of the waters fish insist on barbless. Which I don't understand, Drayton reservoir has a barbless rule and the state of the Carps mouths is disgusting. Quote
salokcinnodrog Posted April 27, 2012 Report Posted April 27, 2012 A whole thread on the Barbed vs Barbless debate: https://forum.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=19019 This thread is asking about whether crimped barb is allowed on a particular water Quote
