carpking4
On a lake that is windy (and i mean very windy) most of the time, will there be much tow under the water (like the seas current)? i appreciate there wont be much, but when its extremely windy, do you think there will be much movement of a 1.5 ounce to 3 ounce lead in 5-6ft of water at about 50-70 yard range? any opinions on a 1.5 ounce lead as im thinking of going down from a 3 ounce lead to a 1.5 ounce
nigewoodcock
I don't think there needs to be a wind to have undertow being heavy enough to move leads around If Goblin was still active; he could tell you a thing or two about it. I recall he has had to use some serious lead to hold bottom
stoogi
https://forum.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=42395&highlight=undertow It's a good read
beanz
the line angle will effect whether a lead moves or not, if the tow/flow is coming directly from from the line the lead may bounce, if from the sides it can move/roll but if its coming from above( your facing into the flow/tow) with a semi slack line even a light lead can hold,as the gets line is pinned down, reducing the drag on the line. its called up streaming( if i remeber right) may be worth you finding a feeder fishing on rivers book ,or google it
