I STARTED A TOPIC BUT GOT NO REPLIES???
Anyone fished pullens lake, my mates are doing 48 next week & i am booked for 72 mid July. Aiming for a new PB!!!!!?????
-
i Use a 2 or 3 turn blood to overcome this, dependant on stiffness
-
Again I'd use it for spooky fish in clear water and I'd have to go for the chod style hook cos of the out turned eye. I do like a wide gape and if the fluoro was a stiff one I'd be worried about the gape not being wide enough especially when the rig is out there all day. Plus the coots seem to home in on my hook bait every time as well so I really want the rig to reset itself
Good shout, have you tried the Krank choody???
I like the hook so was hoping the chod style one would improve my zig fishing as well.
I've got traps for the rats & i wish there was one for the ol' coots n ducks, they're worse than bream

thanks a lot fella.
Not too sure why?? Considering the state of some of the well known day ticket waters near me
hope it will be worth it & at least i can say i've been

& i was told not to mention fluro to cm!!!!!!
As above although i use no.6 Krank, 3 turn blood, micro swivel on the hook, my method over the suppleness of the braid.
I have used IQ2 in the past, but now using Rig marole ( easy to iron out small kinks without the need for steam), they also have braid over fluro, so you can roll up the braid, cut the fluro, push the braid back for the whipping & hair, INSTANT COMBI RIG.
I only use fluro now, peace of mind that the rig resets itself should it be disturbed.

Due to the recent arrival of my 3rd son, i have stupidly agreed with the ol' lady that i will only go on a 72 hr trip this year. (i'll try n get a few sneaky overnighters though)
So i've booked Pullens lake in mid July (no cracks about being a fair weather fisherman a) wondered if anyone has any tips or advice???
Cheers fellas

well as i say each to his own & wouldn't life be dull if we all did & liked the same things

i couldn't agree more matey, sink the line
I am always amused by the amount of anglers fishing tight lines, i know it's a saying, but you could hang your washing on them & i sometimes feel we're in the minority by fishing slack lines. Each to his own i say!!!
Having seen any underwater filming makes you want to pin your business end to the lake bed. i currently use sub line, but am going to change for fluro due to the short range fishing i do. .

ok, found the caps button, lads, were smoking now!!!!!
Didn't know or necessarily want to plug it, but underwater 8. stiif fluro hooklink & size 6's seem to do the business for me

A slack line doesn't help indication but imo a semi slack line does because you have a drop on your indicator there for it has more travel upwards with a tight line it has hardly any travel upwards so indicator can not do what it's there for which is move up and down. I don't no what you base your theory of fish using big leads to throw hooks threw many hours if watching fish feed over baited rigs the fish gets away with picking rigs up before the lead even moves no matter what lead set up used bit when they do make a a mistake a bolt rig nails them.
Carp arnt the most subtle of fish when hooked anyway reading some posts on here you would think carp hardly move when nailed which does happen occasionally but even so even a fish that doesn't give a vicious take still gives indication bolt rig or not. Generally carp takes are savage or mine are anyway we not fishing for bream or roach.
TOM FOUND A SOLUTION TO THE PICK UPS WITHOUT THE LEAD MOVING IN U.W.8
I'VE APPLIED THIS TO MY FISHING WITH DEVISTATING RESULTS
