  1. I'm up already, just another 7 hours before I leave, final prep done and gear sorted. There's a definite change in temperature and I expect to start seeing Autumn colouring starting soon ready for the onslaught of winter, which, coincidentally is my favourite time of year for fishing
  2. I've pm'd you mate, I don't want to hijack this thread Sorry tim
  3. Sorry to hijack, what kind of rods are you after?
  4. I used to have the globetrotter, front tripost rear tripost, it weighed a tonne, cracking pod,;but when your cutting back on gear and weight, you need something light and quick to set up. I also had the nash pocket pod, again nice pod,;but the Gardner was just quicker to set up. That old pod did everything I needed
  5. I found mine invaluable when fishing the small water recently. Doing single nights especially in winter, I needed something I could set up in no time with the minimal of disturbance. I'm not so bothered now I'm fishing 100 yards plus, but for small water fishing I wanted to be as unintrusive as possible, and my pod provided that for me.
  6. Ive had a few, I've never been happy with any of them apart from the ESP sallopettes and a big thick knitted #Carpy jumper
  7. I love mine, it's the Gardner Black Shadow with cygnet bars,
  8. Can I just say If anyone else wants to jump in with their fishing, please do so, this was never just meant to be about me and my exploits, I'd like to see more from others
  9. Cheers fella The weather is looking half decent, we have a chilli that looks like it's going to burn on the way in and out
  10. Ive made a couple of tweaks for this weeks session. I've taken all the 20 millers out and bulked up with smaller 12 and 15mm baits. And now I'll be using tigers on one rod and 15mm boilies on the other. I'm going to start bringing the two spots closer together over the next few weeks, to with in 20 yards of each other, then fish a hookbait either side of the baited area. Again, this isn't a short term plan, in fact the left hand rod will be staying where it was but I'll be moving the right hand rod over. The pellets have been absolutely saturated in liquids, their fit to burst. Ooo I also have the years first box of mince pies ready for the session tomorrow
  11. I've been up about 45 minutes, the moon is bright, so bright it's lit up my swim, it's just perfect, light breeze, slight ripple on the water, you can just hear the leaves rustling above, proper atmospheric stuff,
  12. It feels really nice tonight, probably the best night I've had in a long time, I'm really getting into this water, it's gotten right under my skin
  13. Baits out, rigs spot on, looks good, all I can do is wait to see what happens now, but it does feel #Carpy lol
  14. Still a great song https://youtu.be/Tj75Arhq5ho
  15. Good luck phil I'm just getting ready for tomorrow's session, these will probably be the only two rigs cast out,
  16. It's a benny hill clip in the making lol
  17. I suppose it depends how long the elastic has been exposed to sun light, I always keep mine in buckets, mind you at least you can buy spare elastics and pouches
  18. If you were to get a proper one toner on a really free spool, you'd end up getting a birds nest
