Cheers fella The weather is looking half decent, we have a chilli that looks like it's going to burn on the way in and out

Ive made a couple of tweaks for this weeks session. I've taken all the 20 millers out and bulked up with smaller 12 and 15mm baits. And now I'll be using tigers on one rod and 15mm boilies on the other. I'm going to start bringing the two spots closer together over the next few weeks, to with in 20 yards of each other, then fish a hookbait either side of the baited area. Again, this isn't a short term plan, in fact the left hand rod will be staying where it was but I'll be moving the right hand rod over. The pellets have been absolutely saturated in liquids, their fit to burst. Ooo I also have the years first box of mince pies ready for the session tomorrow

I've been up about 45 minutes, the moon is bright, so bright it's lit up my swim, it's just perfect, light breeze, slight ripple on the water, you can just hear the leaves rustling above, proper atmospheric stuff,

I suppose it depends how long the elastic has been exposed to sun light, I always keep mine in buckets, mind you at least you can buy spare elastics and pouches

I've always been a fan of drennan

If you were to get a proper one toner on a really free spool, you'd end up getting a birds nest

I always took Free Spooling as a figure of speech, I've never actually free spooled as such, there's always a certain amount of tension but it's still looser than the front playing drag

Like I say, my fishing grew with bait runners, it's what I'm used too.

That entirely depends fella, far gone are the days of saving money making your own, you'd be better thinking it gives you the chance to use something unique, something different from the masses. You can save money, but with the quantities you by and trying to make it as good as the bigger guys you probably won't notice a lot of difference

It's all done for you when you wind the handle on a bait runner,

Phil Sorry if this teaches you to such eggs but Bait runners have two clutches, One for the playing fish One for that first initial take They have a front and rear drag, Others The front drag does both jobs, ie Playing fish and that first initial take. Bait runners use the handle to change from the initial take clutch to the playing fish clutch, each one can have it's own setting. Others, you adjust the front drag The only difference between the two is one uses the handle to switch over the other is switched over by you, using the front drag. As I've said, both are exactly the same in principle but they both use a different mechanism to achieve the same goal. Anglers can let a fish run on both bait runners and other reels, they still both have to be activated by the angler. Some people prefer the handle method, some people prefer the front drag method, it's the same. Both sets of anglers can be irresponsible, and it's the angler that is the problem not the reel.
