If you want to use a pva bag with anti tangle sleeve why not just hook the pva mesh onto your hook or use a solid bag,

years ago before boilies did they not use par boiled potatoes ? anyone tried them ?

hi guys, the son has just moved to Henlow and we went down with him over the weekend couldnt do much spying for water but ive found henlow bridge lakes, and part of the rive hiz runs through there, anyone ever fished it? its only a small river. but looks worth a go. the lakes look pretty dedent so im planning to do a monday to thursday in the spring. it will be great to fish some differen t water as not driving i am limited this way when he goes home friday night i can go with him and come back the following weekend.

commercials dont do it for me far to easy with no challenges so thats another i wont be going to

Bit of a silly question sorry but i'd still call myself a beginner. How would a fish lose a lip? Bad unhooking? Barbed hooks or? they have benn caught so many times and they have that many matches on there and match anglers can be very hasty at unhooking, you also get a lot of people swinging the fish in rather than using their net, all this adds damage to the fish lips get ripped then they are caught again and part of a lip falls off, its sad really because it could be a cracking place if it wasnt so overfished im afraid it is a sign of the times. but to build your confidence and use it as a bit of a training pool it will be ok beware you will get hounded by small carp (stock fish)

hi saddler you will deff catch at coppice lane, however it is a typical commercial lots of fish with lips missing, i wrote to the owners about it, all they said was they couldnt police the pools all of the time, aint been back since

there is a lake not far from me thats day water but fished by the same people on a regular basis its in a bit of a notorious area, when i fished it the first time i had a load of youths just keep throwing rocks in so i just packed up, the next time this random bloke in camo gear came and sat by me, it was like a spanish inquisition just as he was about to leave he informed me that he was top dog on this pool and that i was ok to carry on fishing.. i wonder how common this is?

i am just getting my gear together to allow me to do overnighters but i wont do one on my own i shall be with one of the other guys i have befriended at the local lake, safetey in numbers....but it does spoil it while its nice to have someone to chat to i much prefer the solitude of carp fishing

it is a shame kev, but im afraid thats the way its gone anglers have become targets for yobbo's i had it happen to me on the school pool which is fenced and gated, i challenged a youth who was fishing just a rod no l/net or any other gear, i knew he shouldnt be there so i told him he had to leave next thing i know theres a dozen youths giving me grief i had to phone the son in law im ashamed to say and he is built like an outside toilet, they threatened to throw me and all my tackle in when the son walked through the gate and round the bank to me carrying a persuader they soon ran off. my wife had called the police who managed to turn up 3 hours later when i was at home. so now i keep a persuader hidden in my bag just in case
