  1. Welcome to the forum Aidan. I'd stick to the same line - a new water will bring with it so many unknowns I wouldn't want to be second guessing something I already know. If I thought it was having an effect after a while, then I would consider changing.
  2. Sweetcorn or maize in the margins, introduce it in patches around the lake, you'll know when they're on it as you will see them kicking up the bottom. Those trees look like trouble (and fish), make sure you are tackled up for them. Welcome to the forum Manos, you lucky person
  3. We know what we know Steve.
  4. I had written a response to that effect, but I thought 400 words was a bit over the top
  5. Thank goodness for that
  6. It shouldn't be asking for payment, there must be something there that doesn't belong.
  7. Works ok on mine (didn't watch it all though), I use firefox, but it also works on opera, vivaldi and chromium; are you using internet explorer or edge? I suspect you have some malware or some other such nonsense. Make sure you have the latest updates especially the windoze virus / malware scanner.
  8. Rig safety is all about leaving as little for the fish to tow around should your main line break, this applies to all rigs regardless of the name since any rig can be made unsafe. In the case of the chod rig, should the main line break, the hook link should be able to slide off what is left leaving only that hook link in their mouth and the lead on the bottom of the lake (rather than the fish towing it around), problems can occur with this rig if beads, loops or any other sort of stopping / restricting device is used which prevents this such as a swivel eye being too small to pass over any knots or a bead being too small a diameter to slide off the end or over any knots. Welcome to the forum and it's is a very good question to start with
  9. You need to highlight it from the first w and paste it into the address bar, the link I put is the same, but shorter to click on
  10. £12.95 p&p :
  11. Hand operated was it did she have a perm
  12. Is it worth getting clear/grey and then blobbing it with those coloured marker pens to camouflage?
  13. Have you camouflaged them for use in snowy weather? I'm struggling to see them Only kidding, welcome to the forum - and what a first boast.
  14. That's certainly an interesting way of thinking of the rig, definite food for thought - thank you. I was really referring to the crudeness of it, the thick hook link, I've always had the mindset to go thinner and less obvious, but as I said in the post, it catches and it makes me wonder if you need any finesse we only remember when we make a change and catch shortly after.
  15. This one above.
  16. After hours looking, I remembered it was a yt video
  17. I couldn't find a picture of one I saw recently, but it looked more like a butchers hook with a hook on the end.
  18. I've never understood how these type of rigs catch But there's no doubt that they do?
  19. It's so that you can have a change in the stiffness and or suppleness of your hook-length. Rigs can be made using mono which is either stiff or soft, there are several theories on using stiff and soft through the hook length to help hooking; so various monos were joined together, then someone came up with the idea of coating braid so that you can peel back the stiff coating to leave the supple braid.
  20. Welcome to the forum Pete, do they mean coated braid? in which case this simply means stripping the coating off of the 'coated' braid: This leaves the softer braid at the hook end, and a slightly stiffer hook length.
  21. Hi there, and welcome to the forums. What have you tried? When you say ditches, how wide and long are they and how are they fed (where does the water come from and where does it go)? I haven't fished over there (New Mexico?) but if you can describe the ditches in a bit more detail (pictures would help as well) then maybe the forum members can help you get a plan together.
  22. As above, but will add: make sure the knot is kept wet this will also help reduce the snagging.
  23. Nice to hear about good service.
  24. As an alternative; on the concrete swims, can you put a bank stick in the margin? Then if the water level is lower than the concrete rest the butt on the concrete, or use a bait box, bucket etc to rest your butt on? But yeah, otherwise as the others have said use the pod, it does the job; you could always take it into your local tackle shop who may be able to fix it for you.
