i did 24hrs on it about may last year had three carp biggest at 16lb, there were five other lads on there and three of them had all their rods to the island but didn't have a single fish from it. The other two lads had one fish each from out the margins. So basically if the islands pressured don't fish to it. and people were telling me theres loads of cray fish in there but i fished bottom baits and had no trouble at all.

me and my mate fished it today and blanked

i'm not saying the blue ain't dodgy at night but i'v night fished it quite a few times without any trouble, i sometimes wonder if other carpers make up these little stories to scare others from fishing it but then again i could be wrong.

i think it is mate by what i was told there were some plans on display at the town center and it shows half the blue being filled in and built on and its going to happen in about 3 years time. But this info is only what i'v been told so this might not be true but alot of people have told me things along the same lines.

was that on blue or randlay?

i have never fished it myself but i know a bloke who used to match fish it a few years back and he said it used to be good and then all of a sudden it went rubbish and its been the same ever since. i know there are carp in there but don't know how many or how big, iv heard a couple of people talk about a big ghosty in there but that was a while back.

there's bayliss pools and a few on the t.a.a card like middle pool, blue pool, trench pool. how did you get on at marchamley mate?

me and my mates have done best on big cubes of luncheon meat in there.

i don't know if its true but the last i heard all the carp out the grange got moved to the withy.

hi all i'v only ever fished drayton res twice and i see what people mean by "the state of the fish". i had about 25 carp the first time and about 15 the second time, but out all them carp this 13lb mirror was the best looking by far.

i was only free lining because i got some carp feeding in about 2ft of water very close in and also to not spook them when i flicked it out. thats all i used to do on middle just bait up different spots close in, then i'd keep walking round with the rod till i could see the carp feeding in one of them and then i'd drop it on top of them. but i think its too late to try this now as its getting colder and the fish are moving to deeper water. the two carp i had out this year were on tigernut boilie, one was to about half way to the island and the other i whacked out to nearly the middle of the pool. i was fishing the far side by that outlet thing.

i had it on two grains of fake corn free lining

ercall reservoirs good i'v had a 20, 22 and loads of doubles out there this year just fishing boilies tight to the weed. stirchley pools, parkers and dandy pool have alot of carp in their doubles and quite easy to fish, people say the withy and apley are quite good but i don't fish them much. if your after the bigger carp there's blue pool, middle pool, baylisses but they are a bit harder and also trench but i think thats very hard. i hope this helps

iv fished it twice years ago and it was rubbish never been since, perhaps other people had the same experience.

hi baz i'v only fished it once this year and had two carp around 10lb. i don't know the pool that well but i used to go down there about 4 years ago just with a stalking rod, caught most my fish by them railings by the car park.

two lads i know went there about 3 weeks back and they had loads of small carp too along with a 20 and a 22.

for the pool with all the cats in I found luncheon meat works best cast tight to the trees with pva bag or just catapult a few bits of meat out, but you have got to wait for the bites. Don't bait your swim up too much it just puts them off and some weekends you stuggle to get a peg i used to go in the week as theres far less people fishing.

marchamley pools are about 9 miles out of telford on the a442 towards whitchurch, go through hodnet then through marchamley and its on your left.

if you want cats theres some in one of the pools at marchamley, iv been told the biggest in there is around 33lb. I fished it couple months back had a 15lb cat and 17lb carp but i ain't had the chance to go again, we payed £15 for 24hrs but if you want to fish another 24hrs its only extra £5.
