  1. Alright lads.

I'm intending on fishing Oxlease lake at linear fisheries with a couple of mates in the near future for 24-48 hours.

I have never being to linear, let alone fished Oxlease.

So if anybody has any useful tips or information they wouldnt mind sharing it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance, Ross :)

  2. my mate fished drayton in the week and he said there were thousands of dead roach floating around the place alot of them were biguns aswell 2lb+ easy. I don't fish it myself but i just think it's wierd that it's just the roach :?

My mate also said the same saying he seen 2 dead Roach. Bit weird.

  3. Yes still members lake . There only seems to be weed around the islands now .

I think you may be on to something about being bored !

My local tackle shop told me that cell out sell other baits 10 to 1 !

Cell are selling more baits because of the amount of people who see cell being advertised. Dosnt take carp long to figure things out.

Try something different, ditch boilies and go with maggot? (if there are no silvers) luncheon meat or sweetcorn

  4. Hey guys I'm tryin to tie some kd rigs up as we speak I get the braid through the eye first time then I can't get it through 2nd time the braid just splices into strands at the end the braids 25 lb Ashima groundhog and hooks size 6 fox arms point SSSb wide gape

Would of thought it would of gone through.

    Are you using coated braid?

Try cutting the braid at an angle so it shapes the end into a point shape, might work?

  5. Cheers CC. I think I'm finally getting to grips with the Ebro- taken me a long time and a lot of visits. Its such a massive piece of water; between the Segre, Cinqa and Ebro you could probably spend a year of your life fishing somewhere different every day.

...Yes, Barston in winter sounds like a bit of fun. I've decided I'm not grinding it out on my syndicate this year. Life's too short. Maybe Feb (ish)?

Haha quality! Looks such an impressive place to wet a line! Again, one I will visit one day I hope!

I'm hoping to be on my club water through winter, so February sounds perfect, as I WILL be needing a confidence boosting session by then!

  6. Typical...prior booking in my diary. Looks like its full too.

I was discussing a wineter social with careful carping at barston later this year if anyone fancies it?

How did I not even notice this write up...

Quality write up though, looks like you had a great time, and it's got to be a good experience just to be on the Ebro itself.

Oh, and I'm up for the winter social

  7. I tie my rigs from scratch every time. I rarely reuse them. The boilie goes on first before tying the hook.

I do put a small rubber float stop above the boilie to stop the hook slipping down.

No I have not fished it yet because I only dreamed it up today. Tomorrow will be the first test.

I do not keep schtum about any of my ideas. My local lake is so rarely fished the chances of anyone competing with the same rig is about a million to one. I prefer to share ideas so that I can get feedback from more experienced anglers and hopefully make improvements.

So all feedback is gratefully accepted.

    Ah fair enough.

Goodluck with you testing tommorow, will have to let us know how you get on.

    All the best. Ross.

  8. How exactly do you even get the pop up on the line there between the 2 shots and the hook? Im guessing you have to have a loop at the end of your hook link, pull the pop up through the hoolibk then put on shots?

    Something different I guess.

  9. three heads reliant on one circuit....no thanks...one fails and they all do....will stick with the nevs

But if one fails they all have to get sent back together anyway by the looks of it

exactly the point...why would I want to be without alarms completely because one head failed....I dont have that with any other alarm....its just design for designs sake...no practical thought involved

You wouldn't! It's just something new so they can say, look what we've developed, someone will buy them in sure.

    But it's just not practical.

  10. I have had my optonic alarms for 3 or 4 years not sure what generation they are though G1 b's I think and they have not missed a beat even when its been monsoon weather. I did break the clip on the back of the receiver in the fist week though. Are you sure the new ones on the buzzbar are not removable seems a bit daft to have a screw thread on the alarm in the middle

100% sure they arnt detachable. From what I've read so far, weird idea but hey ho, something different and new has to be released to keep people buying things I guess.

  11. Just seen a picture of the G3 alarms on Facebook, I would put a picture up but I'm on my phone, so I can't :/

Anyway, they are designed a bit differently to most alarms, they are built into the buzz bars. The picture I seen was a 3 rod setup.

Something different I suppose. But il stick to my delks.

    Anyone's thoughts?

    Ross.

  12. Thanks everyone for your ideas.... Sorry got a but distracted by the Missus giving birth, I am being sent ou of the house twice next week and instructed to go to the lake and get out from under her feet so I will see if we have any more joy although I suspect I will be playing with a zig on at least one rod.

Oh and the baby's fine

    Congratulations mate.

  13. I live across the road from it mate,

It's not reay worth fishing tbh, 1 30 that comes out like 8 times a year and maybe a handfull of 20s ! The car park is safe and te locals will be fine with you, you wot have no probs!

The lamb own it but it is also day ticket get a lamb ticket and you can night fish on there!

    Cheers

    Joe

Ahh awesome, thanks for that, i usualy see cars parked there at night so thought night fishing would be available, but im not really interested in night fishing that lake, i would like to fish it for a couple of hours before work or something.

Does a baliff come round to collect money off you if you go day ticket?

    Thanks for your help. Ross.
