  1. Yeh! I know it`s an old book but I remember when it came out all the secret squirrel went mad, well on my waters anyway, but all of us beginners at the time loved it coz it blew the lid off it all,and some of those bait recipes that are in there I reckon would still be good today.
  2. In that case I don`t know, maybe it was a later edition or a different book? or was it a mag article? I`m curious now.
  3. Waiting For Waddle yeh that`s the one and No you can`t!! lol The tank test is in Carp Fever on pages 115/116.
  4. It is in there, look at pages 115 and 116.
  5. The bolt rig gets it`s name from having the Bolt EFFECT and the original hairs for the hair rig came from Kevin Maddocks wife,it`s all in Carp Fever, still got my original first edition, alongside my original first edition of Phil Thompsons book aswell and no Chris I`m still not selling it! :D lol:D
  6. Not sure m8,I think he was on about the carp r us ready made curved longshank with the 2 stops and the ring on it.
  7. The one that Si is on about is basically a curved longshank I think,I`ve got a couple of them somewhere but don`t like the look of `em.
  8. Quite a few waters have banned it tho Si,as they class it as a bent hook rig.
  9. I`d start at about 10 on the long one and do 5 on the short and see how it goes,or you could try 2 rigs the same lenght and put one on a semi fixed lead and the other on a running lead and compare the results,I`m assuming you`re using 2 rods is that right, are the fish deffinately in your swim,is the water a new one,try talking to the other anglers, obviously don`t try and interogate them but just ask for a few hints etc.most will help some won`t but don`t ask don`t get.
  10. That`s kind of difficult to answer without more info, but if you`re on a new water, and are using more than 1 rod,why not try 1 of each and compare the results??
  11. If your hooklink is tangling, and I`m assuming you`re using a soft braid then try coating it in Kryston Super Stiff gel, that way it will not be supple when you cast it out but on contact with the water the gel will desolve and the link will revert back to its original state and won`t be tangled.
