  1. I still use Mutistrand,so does that mean I`m a backward or forward thinking angler?!?!
  2. The first will be the most valuable in time, and as far as I`m aware there were no revisions, but I`m not certain of this.
  3. It`s all about how he fished in the 70`s and 80`s with contributions from,Bob Reynolds,Bruce Ashby,Duncan Kay,Roy Jonson,and Peter Springate.
  4. What you got to choose from? I got a first edition,I was waiting for that book to be released a long time ago!!
  5. Have a look thru K.Maddocks Carp Fever if you can get hold of a copy,I think they`re still easy to find, there`s loads of stuff in there that would be just what you`re looking for including rigs, bait, flavours etc.
  6. Why not try side hooking a boillie staight onto a hook with a mono hooklink? Or a paste bait molded around the hook?
  7. Used to use Dacron years ago,the stuff was called Black Spider, that was back in the 80`s.
  8. The minimum is about 4 inches longer than the length of your hooklink,so that if it does wrap round it will slide off, that`s the theory anyway, but you can use more if you feel comfortable with a longer bit.
  9. Hi mate, and welcome to the forum, I haven`t got any info that`d help you but there will probably be someone online sooner or later that can help you out.
  10. Ok mate,I think the silicon ones are the smallest bore, and they are the most supple, and make sure you get a tube threader as because the bore on theses ones is so small when you`ve used it a couple of times it will get silt inside and trying to thread it without one will drive you mad.
  11. Get some of the fast sinking stuff, all the manufacturers make it now,and put a small blob of heavy metal putty on it,that will keep it pinned.
  12. Choice doesn`t always come into it,as some fisheries will not allow leadcore,on a personal note I prefer tubing as I think it`s safer.
  13. Have a try with the search bar mate,as there`s loads of threads on the hair rig, some with diagrams too.
  14. What do you do on waters that have banned leadcore? or is that not a problem yet?
  15. They are a simple bit of kit,but can save a lot of stress!
  16. Just buy a tube threader, never mind all that mucking about with steaming etc. as Jemsue says about £2.00 0r £2.50 made by gardner,I`ve been using them for years and wouldn`t be without one.
  17. Gardner make `em,they`re about £2.50 and have been around for a fair while, essential bit of kit I wouldn`t be without it.
  18. Bit harsh mate,at least he`s done some fishing and wants to branch out abit,so no I don`t think instsnt carp angler applies.
  19. It`s just a braid hookling material that has an outer polymer coating on it that can be left on for stiff rigs or stripped back at various lengths for different rig presentation.i.e 1 3rd stripped back and 2 3rds left on will give you a simple combi rig. If left unstripped it will act like a nylon hooklink.
  20. Must admit,I`m not a fan of ready tied rigs because for a start you don`t know how well it`s put together,at least if you tie it yourself and it fails there`s no one to blame but yourself, and secondly, they are overpriced when you compare the cost of the individual components, but having said that they have their place in the market for ppl that can`t/don`t know how to tie their own, yet.
  21. Yeh course it`s allowed mate.
  22. I know that, but there`s np point in ignoring a point even if it is slightly different to the main question.
