  1. The silt coloured one seems to blend in the easiest.
  2. Yeh,you`re right there Adam.
  3. Go with silicon tubing as it`s a finer bore, more supple, and most of them are rated as sinking but put some metal putty on to be on the safe side.
  4. The easiest way to describe it is to form a loop, pass that thru the eye of the hook/swivel,tie a granny knot, the before you pull it tight, pass the hook back thru the loop, then slowly pull tight making sure all the coils seat themselves neatly, obviously as with all knots moisten the line.
  5. http://www.fish4fun.com/palomarknot.htm That should do it.
  6. As long as all the loops bed down neat and tidy it`ll be fine.
  7. Trust me it`s a really easy knot to tie, can`t get thje link to work for some reason, otherwise I`d put a pic up.
  8. The Palomar is rated at 100% strength.IF tied correctly.
  9. No probs mate,I hope you enjoy the site, whatever the question there`s usually someone that`s got the answer,as we`ve got some very good anglers on here.
  10. Ok mate,have a good one.
  11. On the tube about an inch or 2 from the end, then check it in the margins to make sure it`s pinned.
  12. It doesn`t matter if it`s longer the main point is as long as it`s at least a few inches longer than the hooklink at a minimum, that is the main thing,as the pther thing it does is help protect the fish by stopping the line lifting scales,if you feel comfortable with the length that you`re using then don`t change it,just try and ensure that it`s kept pinned down, there are sinking ones but I still put a small bit of heavy metal putty on,just to be sure.
  13. Did you mean a foot longer than the hooklink?
  14. The tubing should be about 4 inches longer than your hooklink as a general rule of thumb, the idea behind this is that it should reduce tangles as the hook should slide off of the tube.
  15. Oh Ok mate, send them a pm instead that way it keeps it off the boards.
  16. ???????? ????????
  17. Yeh Coops, both versions are still avalible.
  18. I think multi strand is under rated and under used because of the potential problems that can occur with it,I started using it again last year, but didn`t use it enough to quantify me results,so this year I`m going to use it on 1 rod all the time and see how it compares, baits will be the same.
  19. Agreed mate,it can be a bit prone to tangling if you`re not careful, but there`s ways round that as you`ve mentioned,I`m going to use it on one rod this season to try and get a comparison with other hooklink materials,so should be interesting.
  20. I still use Mutistrand,so does that mean I`m a backward or forward thinking angler?!?!
  21. The first will be the most valuable in time, and as far as I`m aware there were no revisions, but I`m not certain of this.
  22. It`s all about how he fished in the 70`s and 80`s with contributions from,Bob Reynolds,Bruce Ashby,Duncan Kay,Roy Jonson,and Peter Springate.
  23. What you got to choose from? I got a first edition,I was waiting for that book to be released a long time ago!!
  24. Have a look thru K.Maddocks Carp Fever if you can get hold of a copy,I think they`re still easy to find, there`s loads of stuff in there that would be just what you`re looking for including rigs, bait, flavours etc.
  25. Why not try side hooking a boillie staight onto a hook with a mono hooklink? Or a paste bait molded around the hook?
