  1. right chaps i need a decent Day ticket in Essex, suffolk way or within an hours drive of Walthamstow London. Needs to be a bit of a Runs water with the chance of some good looking fish. i am currently organising the work competition i put on every year and have run out of ideas of places to go. previous competions have been at Par fisheries brentwood angling front lake Birds Green Bottom Lake newlands hall 3 times so we are looking for a new venue would prefer sole use of the lake and we normally have any where between 6 - 12 people depending on the venue many thanks in advance Dan
  2. Waders are on my list of things to get atm. just short on cash bloke turned up on a work party the other day with a pair of chesties he had bought from Aldi for a £5 dunno if they still do em or not i have never been to Aldi but could be worth a try
  3. hi tucker74 cheers for your reply, i have heared great things about it both from friends who have fished it in the past and people i have spoken to on the bank. i was up their on saturday wondering around the marina and their is a long track with OBAS members sign around the back of the marina i assume this goes up to the lake which is situated behind the Bukden waterski lake, if so i did see a car heading up the track so possibly fishing still to be had up their!! was chatting to one chap who was fishing the stretch at the back of the marina near said track who claimed a friend the previous week had had a low 30 i am not sure how true this is but looking at the water quality it sure has the potential !! thanks again tight lines Dan
  4. someone / anyone from that part of the country, don't be shy their is enough water around their for everyone lol
  5. lol in which case il give you another tip, you know the stuff people use for packing? you recieve you box and all them annoying nuggets fall out and you chuck them away? they are PVA nuggets the same ones they charge you 4-5 quid for in the tackle shops obviously check one first in a sink full of water just to be 100% but most if not all of them are
  6. evening all just wondered if anyone knows anything about the above OBAS club which looks like some fantastic river fishing on the ouse !! just wondered if they have any other fishing or if their is any in the sorounding area? looks like i could be spending an awful lot of time around Bukden over the summer ! cheers & tight lines Dan
  7. about 10 years ago i tried this with 8mm boilies around the edge of a big patch of lillies on a little farm resevoir i used to fish, worked an absolout treat i didn't use a bag around it at all but i am sure if i had of thought about it at the time a nice soupy cloudy mix would have been the best option. i don't know why but i havn't used it since when it could have been quiet handy in other situations !! with regards to the zig rigs i find that with a nice smooth cast and two pva nuggets, sandwhich them either side of the hook u will very rarely get a tangle, after all the lead is always going to fall alot quicker than your zig. and casting a 1,2,3 oz lead will always get you further than with a float !
  8. You mean this one ? I quite liked the look of it. just a 360 isn't it ? good rig but again in the right situation have fun and keep up the tying, it's good to experiment now and then and the above rig really isn't that tricky to tie like them all a couple of goes and you soon will pick it up.
  9. shhhhh the stuff is too good to share
  10. what a beautiful part of the world to live in, i spent many years watersking on Lake Como but never fished it properly. we used to have a fish finder on our boat and some of the water depths in Como were well off the scale and the depth went upto 1000ft on the echo sounder, i hate to imagine how many people have found the bottom of that lake with lead boots on ! Good luck i am sure Garda will hold some hidden gems for you, Ciao
  11. no i know what you mean and i am still yet to give it a go, but is their any particular reason you think it wouldn't work. i have a couple of bits of corn that have been in a glug pot of attractor for nearly a year with the intension of trying this (and i know i don't need to leave them that long, thats where they live though ok) at the end of the day when fished as a visual it does the job
  12. i have to say i am the same, normally fish on top of a another bait as a visual thing but thats not to say it wouldn't work how you describe, popped up over some maize maybe. on one of the france trips last year i fished with just maize on the hair 3-4 bits with the full intension of swapping over to a popped up bit of corn over a couple of bait spoons full of maize, the grass carp went mad on the maize and ended up not trying it. but why wouldn't it work ?
  13. fished it last summer as part of a work competion, 2 nights front lake to ourselves. 5 serious carp fisherman and 4 noddys 3 fish came out all weekend not a bad looking water, bit of litter about, back lake was where i wanted to be all weekend though, looks good but absoloutly chocker with canadian pond weed and i mean chocked, did see some nice lumps swimming around in their. Most honest opinion i wouldn't bother returning, their is other places i would rather spend my money but like i say just my opinion. hope this helps
  14. Why are you not allowed to put your spools in your bag? is it something to do with the line and tying people up? You could cut the pilots head off.... Similar reason you can't take lead weights on cos you could put them in a sock and knock someones head off....! u could probably do that with an apple in a sock ! not to mention the fact that you could roll 5ft of line up put it in your pocket if you wanted to use it to strangle someone ! i do wonder who sits down and dreams up ryan airs rules and excess item s, surprised as their is 7 of you guys ryanair havn't come up with a fishermans surcharge, £15 per reel and £2 surcharge if you have line on the reel,

  17. watcha all, just wondered if anyone is or has been fishing this water latley and if so wondered a: how it's fishing b: is it really as rough as i hear from other forums c: is their anything in either worth fishing for d: am i gonna need a basball bat or lump of scaffold tube in my bivvie if i do go ? e: i it worth driving 55 mins for ? hope someone can answer at least a couple of the above Cheers & Tight Lines Dan
  18. as above use the gardner cylinder rig foam is great stuff i caught a couple of weeks ago with three small bits trimmed down black yellow black. (the wasp rig ) just use on a hair rig setup as you would with your pop up's also if you are gonna fish zigs don't be afraid to fish them on a couple of rods or all of your rods with differant depths for example 2ft 3ft 4ft if one works then swap over and go for that lengh another Korda piece of advice their coutesy of Ali Hamidi thinking tackle three.... i personally always struggled with confidence in the zig with worry of poor bite detection but slowley my confidence has grown over the last few years....and i have some good fish that i would not of had if i wasn't sticking a bait in front of their nose 4ft of the lake bed !! tight lines
  19. anyone on here fished Het Plashuis in Holland, i really like the look of this water in particular swims 5-6. is their room in 5 or 6 for two anglers ? cheers Dan
  20. i spent three years water skiing it and never saw much in the way of carp, not that you would charging around at 30 mph in a boat obviously. what i do know is that their is or definatly was a hell of alot of cray fish in their the guy who used to run the waterski club stuck a cray trap down and was pulling out up2 200 a day !!!!
  21. hi guys, just wondered if anyone had any info on any comercial style carp companies running out of Holland that do an exclusive lake hire with a good head of fish for four anglers, i have found one company back2nature but wondered if their was much in the way of alternatives ?
  22. were trying to get a group on next year !! but thats all i know looks good from the video though !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Well ive got the thought that if you just copy someone elses work and pass it off as your own, your not really accomplishing anything. TBH you are cheating yourself, no one else. You are not going to gain from it are you? Its the same in fishing. How many people have you seen on this forum that ask for advice on a certain venue when in truth they want you to fill them on all the info like the going bait, the best swim and what rig to use because they cant be bothered to do the leg work themselves, or just want the "quick fix". Just my opinion i'm not suggesting that he copies, more looks at the design and how it works and developes his own idea around this pretty much how most mass produced bits of rubbish that come out of China are made !
