  1. or as above minus the float if you know what depth you want to be fishing! i have a selection made up in verious sizes ready to go but the above method is good for quick changes if you are unsure !
  2. http://www.bernershall.co.uk/index.php?page=rules they hold a leg of the BCAC their every year, i have never fished it myself but was on a syndicate very close to their for a year i heared it's full of cray fish although they were trying to remove them (good luck with that lol) the stamp of fish in their should be pretty good as it used to be run as a syndicate by these people http://www3.lily-fisheries.co.uk/index.php?page=Carp-Syndicates
  3. are you looking for syndicate waters club waters or day ticket?
  4. do you mean Cambridge FPAS ? if so yeh its ok i have been a member for about 5-6 years only because a good friend of mine lives in newmarket i probably fish their waters about 4-5 times a year. it does have its issues their are certain waters i wouldn't fish alone unless your pretty confident you can look after yourself as some of their waters do have problems with travelers. Heritage lake in cottenham has some ok fish in it if you get them on the feed your grab yourself some nice looking upper doubles all night and all day long. Plus the possibility of a couple of good 20's. these fish have shown some good growth rates over the last few years! there is a large travelers site at the entrance to this lake and to be fair they have never really bothered me but they know your up that long drive in the middle of nowhere and how many or not have gone up there. ! I was once up their by myself and all of a sudden their was plumes of smoke in the old shed at the end of satchal drove then saw two lads legging it across the fields follwed by a police helicopter Nevergrove is a stunning little water again somewhere you can go and have fish all day long recomend light tackle in here as its only small and doesn't really warrent the all out carp approach it does have some nice koi in but the common and mirror carp arn't ggonna go anywhere over 10-12lb maybe a surprise in their i don't know but i doubt it the size of the lake and the stock would't really lend its hand to produceing a twenty + fish - a match tactics approach would fill your keepnet up in here! Block fen Mapal is a lovely lake with some absoloutly mint carp in big and stunning fish i do know that this lake has had its fair share of problems with travellers and if you do a google search you will find verious forums mentioning the ups and downs of this water and the local wildlife ! as for the other water i cant speak for them as i have never fished them. all in all for the money the club is good with a good selection of waters to suit all angling needs and ability but it really depends on what you want from your fishing over the next season. i would say that the ticket prices reflect on the up keep of the club with little in the way of facilities resulting in a fair bit of litter and to be honest their is only so much of other peoples rubbish you can pick up and take home with you. the river fishing is also good with some good pike fishing on the Camb but like i say it really depends on what your looking for ! Good luck and tight lines Dan
  5. I must be old fashioned, I still think a bivvy is the lap of luxury! Huts are where sheep sleep, aren't they? Or is it shepherds? Anglers?.....no, surely not. Ian i second that, bivvy for me any day, a hut would be like having a caravan on the peg.........But a hut can be a great idea for couples when a woman dont like tents + wood just doesn't cast shadows like canvas !!
  6. http://www.fishing4carpinfrance.com/ has anyone fished here or know anything about the above. I am in the process of booking for a week nothing too serious takeing a mate for his first france trip ? any info on the place would be great tight lines Dan
  7. it sais video removed by user
  8. If you want a holiday come across the bridge and i will guest you on my syndicate water Welsh winter weather, you just cant beat it. welsh winter weather!!! i'm looking for some sun mate lol !! i will take you up on that offer one day thanks ! unfortunatly or fortunatly for you i have a group of about six looking to go not sure if your allowed to guest that many for a week if you are not sure it would go down too well lol
  9. come on boys i need to book a holiday lol
  10. is this lake available all year round if so does anyone know how it fishes in the colder months feb march time ?
  11. anyone on here use Owner hooks ???? any good ?
  12. i have fished armo points for the last couple of seasons and havn't had one let me down thus far!! i hava had simmilar experiences with Korda hooks as stated above and find they just dont hold the point like the armo's. 99.999999% of the time when you take an Armo point out it's pretty little box it's razor sharp and ready to go!!
  13. oh o mate. your gonna get told off when one of the almighty powerful mods see that you aint searched for "what hook" threads. grab your tin hat and run for cover.
  14. and is your mate catching as much as you are ? in my opinion if it aint broke don't bother trying to fix it !
  15. well i wish you the best of luck, i am still searching all though not as activly as you have been by the sound of it. any info you get and willing to share would be greatly apprieciated. as for secret squirrels i have heared some very interesting stories regarding non locals being moved on from spots ect by local anglers very terrortorial but i kinda of understand, look at the affects it hard in France! i have found a few intersting sight which i will send you a pm for, not sure if they are of interest to you but may be worth a look. also with regards to more commercial fishing in Holland there is always the option of this place which i really am considering giving a go i like the idea of having my own island for a week or so http://www.fishermanholidays.com/en/lake/detail.phtml?id=13
  16. nah sorry to get your hopes up, i just know the water have driven past it hundreds of times seen people fishing it though !! is it a syndicate or small club? would be greatful if you could pm me some info when you find out anything though cheers Dan
  17. watcha fella, is this the one at the side of the road by old gravel sight just off the roundabout had jet ski's on their for a few years ? or is it actually up at the channels golf club sight ? tight lines Dan
  18. get yourself alot of good quality food sauce bait going in their, visit everyday if you can, i would be inclined to spread it about a bit to start and then after a few weeks start moving it tighter to your chosen spots then concentrate heavily on those spots, you should be able to concentrate this activity over a period of time in the places you want to fish as long as the fish can get to them! enjoy it and dont let anyone see you and where your chucking your bait remember school holidays are upon us and i know if i was 15 again i would be spending the next 6 weeks looking for places to fish
  19. cheers for the sugesstions guys, i rekon the right time of day and it's do able in 1:30 ish might have to try it out, unfortunatly looking at the booking dates available for the pads lake i am not left with to much to choose from unless i wait til about november and a few of these boys are fair weather carpers.... hadn't really considered cemax though gonna spend a while flicking through their website. any more ideas more than welcome though keep em coming ! Tight Lines Dan
