That's a fair sized collection you have mate and I have a few of them myself but if you had to recommend just one book from them as a must read for every carp angler or your favourite one which would it be ?
Hi esmin I personally have had better results using a large widegape hook with mono hooklinks
I'm not saying curvshanks won't work but all the bigger fish I have had with mono have been on widegapes and no shrinktube when I have experimented between the two hook patterns, I think it has something to do with the way the eye of the hook is angled when you tie it knotlessknot style using mono it kicks the mono out this points the point of the hook down when you use a curvshank it almost over compensates and because you don't have the suppleness of the braid the hook wont flip round properly tie some up and have a look for yourself.
In response to your question I don't think adding shrinktube will be dangerous but it might cost you a bite.
A favorite of mine that I use on a no braid hook link venue is ESP soft ghost flouro carbon its quite supple but still gives you a bit of rigidity to kick the hook link away from the lead and at about £6 a spool its not too pricey.
Sorry Danny I can't help with that one not fished it give the fishery manager a call though and see what he has to say regarding prices, waiting list ect and post your result up on here so we have a post for reference
Is that Sutton Bank farm if so you might need to have a word with the farmer whose land it is on I have fished it as a guest a few seasons ago and I think it was around £160 for the year and if I remember correctly I think it might have a waiting list on it.
I lost my dog Stinkmutt in march I miss him everyday he was a proper mongrel lab/staff/whippet/collie and the best dog I could have wished for he was amazing such a good lad well behaved daft as a brush and funny he used to pester me for curry and beer if I was having some literally going crazy until he had a little bit.
He got to 14 years old which is not bad innings but his back legs went and I had to take him for that last trip to the vet which was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do I am not ashamed to say I bawled my eyes out and I still get upset thinking about it I will have another dog eventually but its too soon at the moment'
I have a cat as well but its not the same and you can't go out on long walks or fishing with a cat.
I like it how the part of the Hs2 line that run past the bottom of a load of MP's garden's is the bit they are putting under ground. One rule for us and another for them
I have had my optonic alarms for 3 or 4 years not sure what generation they are though G1 b's I think and they have not missed a beat even when its been monsoon weather. I did break the clip on the back of the receiver in the fist week though. Are you sure the new ones on the buzzbar are not removable seems a bit daft to have a screw thread on the alarm in the middle
Some real good fish to be had in Milton Keynes Stefan but also alot of different types of water Big clay/gravel pits, canal, river, little streams, old ponds and thats just on the MKAA ticket you are almost spoilt for choice
I think the big pool on sutton bank is now a syndicate only the weedy stretch of the canal is telford aa ticket and the good bit of the canal is a stoke anglers club not sure which.
I use kryston dropem and rig putty to sink it but only use it for combi rigs so cant really comment on the casting issue you have had. It works for me so i'm going to stick with it.
