Catch report 15thMay-21st May 2010 This week we only had two guys fishing Gary and Sean from London, Again it wasnt the easiest weeks fishing but saying that the guys caught fish from the smallest 25lb8oz to early 30s,again none of the larger carp over 35lb were caught they seem to be more interested in eating the millions of tadpoles that are present at the moment.Well done to Gary and Sean who both had fish over 30lb and I hope you had a good 50th Gary and we look forward to seeing you again at Carpquarry. All fish and lost fish was on there own bait T1 boilies and all runs came from the far side. www.carpquarry.co.uk -

Carpquarry catch report w/c 1st May 2010 This week saw the return of Tony,Steve and Nick for there second visit after falling in love with the place back in the Autumn last year. This week was much colder than the last few weeks so no suntans this week. Well done to Steve with his lake record wild carp at 12lb.All the fish were caught from the far side tight to trees/cliff face on pop up foam on a chod rig or squid scopex & red robin boilies topped with a yellow pop up plastic corn or foam to form a snowman type bait. Nick swim 1 Mirror 28 lb, Mirror 31 lb8oz and 2 lost/missed fish. Tony swim 3 Mirrors at 25lb8oz,27lb,27lb,27lb8oz,28lb8oz and a wildie at 8lb, 4 lost/missed fish. Steve swim 5 Mirrors at 27lb,29lb and 32lb8oz Wildies at 8lb and a lake record wildie of 12lb. 3 lost/missed fish Pics will be on the website soon www.carpquarry.co.uk -
I have not fished it but have only heard good reports about it , the owner is on here under the name of Mrsrusheslake she ( Kim ) will be able to give you all the info you need. There are also alot of other people on here who have fished it, so you will be able to find out all you need to know, I think it is an ideal lake for your group.
-
Rushes lake has to be the one for you.
-
Where does the myth come from that you have to use 100Kg of bait for a week and boilies the size of golf balls
-
So am I, didnt notice it last year as no one fishing at this time crashing like mad from 4am to 6.30am They are spawning in the branches and tree roots on the far side cliff face even with 15-20ft of water under them.
-
They are spawning at Carpquarry this week ( mid Brittany), now have 5 grumpy anglers who have not had a touch yet. Have been checking water temp and the surface water has hit 18deg at mid day when the suns been on it, I have to say that Mrs Rusheslake was spot on by saying end of April

10/4/10 – 17/4/10 We have had our first guest over from Cornwall Sid and his wife Lesley and there friends Ron and Viv. This was not a hardcore fishing holiday, It was a holiday with the ladies with some fishing aswell. Sid and Ron both done well smashing there PBs and also a French friends son who popped over for day for a BBQ beside the lake also done well catching the biggest fish within an hour of being there. Carp were caught from the smallest at 25lb up to 35lb8oz all the fish and missed runs were from tight to the far side cliff face from swims 2 to 4 using a baitboat with a couple of handfuls of Carpquarry pellet with a few freebe boilies and the same type on the rig. All the runs were on the Carpquarry Scopex, squid and red robin boilies. Well done on your new PBs and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Sid 32lb8oz Ron 25lb Nicholas 35lb8oz We still have plenty of availability left for 2010 holidays www.carpquarry.co.uk -
I know when I looked at hiring a minibus a few years ago to go to France the price was stupid when I said taking it to France ( we ended up havng a tow bar fitted to one of the guys 7 seater cars and taking a friends trailer it was much cheaper). It may be worth driving to the ferry port leaving cars there and going on as foot passengers and hiring in the french port I know it is hassle but will be much cheaper ( google search will find car/ minibus hire at french ports ). A couple of things to think about. Have a good trip. Gordon

Fishery management/bailiffing/cooking job wanted in france
carpquarry replied to briandki's topic in Fishing in France
Have a look at Edens Lake I think they are looking for someone -
Thank you Kim all the best to you and the other lake owners and to all the anglers that are going to France I hope you all smash your PBs at what ever venue you are going too. Just have a great time and re-book to come back to France you know it makes sence and you dont have to look any further than Carp.com to find your perfect venue. Regards Gordon
-
Thanks for the recommendation Jules. As regards the lake this can take 6 at a push but perfect for 4 anglers carp pushing 50lb ave fish last year 32.5lb. As regards the house there is one large bedroom that can take a double bed and 2 singles if not 3 singles, the other 2 bedrooms have 2 single beds in, there is also an area at the top of the stairs which could hold another single bed.So it could be done if you require. The cost would be £1350 peak and £1200 non peak per week. There is a bit of a video on the website under news page showing some of the house that you can have a look at to see if it fit your requirements. Regards Gordon Carpquarry www.carpquarry.co.uk

any good tip's for France? welcome gentlemen!!!!!
carpquarry replied to lennon190206's topic in Fishing in France
For me I would start with less than that maybe one good handful of pellet, some hemp and corn,6/8 boilies whole and 6/8 boilies crushed in each spot/rod. I alway think if you can get the fish competing for the food they will let there guard down and will take a hookbait more often. -

carpquarry replied to lennon190206's topic in Fishing in France
I would say start of with a small amount and increase as required dont stick in alot to start as you may have had someone there before you and you dont know what they have put in.Also make sure you take some warm gear as it can still be cold at night but most important of all just chill and enjoy. -
Have a look at Rushes lake you will find an ad on here and Kim will look after you if they have space.
