    Hooks

Solar size 4 wide gapes for my boilie rigs, deception size 6 curves for my particle rigs.
  3. I think it's the way forward dal. Did you ever fish Horton Kirkby? That is the lake I really want to fish again.
  4. I could use my mum's da postcode, do you reckon that would push me up the waiting list? I remember pike fishing at Brooklands one winters day with live bait, couldn't buy a take, but whenever I took the bait off the hook and threw it back in ( be it still alive or dead), a pike would take it within seconds, talk about frustrating ☺
  5. Cheers dal. I might be wrong but I think you can now fish sutton at night, the time restrictions are on Devons Rd and presidents lake according to the website. I used to fish brooklands as a kid too, had some great perch out of there.
  6. Evening all,how the devil are you? I know there are not too many people on this forum from my neck of the woods but was wondering if anyone has been or is a member of Ddaps,I am thinking of joining next season and wondered if any one has any experience of the lakes. Cheers mufty.
  7. We should do a carp.com cup, us southern softies vs the northern Nancy boys☺. If it was done over 3 days then the 1St day could be a good drink and munch up, and then a nice little 2 day battle.
  8. My office is in Essex mate and I can't recall any sort of wind there either over the last couple of weeks,so we either are living in a parallel universe or I've been drinking too much.
  9. Tim I am not far from you and can't remember there being any sort of wind over the last couple of weeks, as far as air pressure goes I am under the impression that high pressure would affect the carps swim bladder and force them to go higher up in the water, but surely if the lake was a only a couple of feet deep it would not have that much of an impact.
  10. Would air pressure have more of an affect on lakes that hold more depth than the shallower lakes?
  11. My club lake hasn't fished that we'll for a couple of weeks now and one thing I've noticed on the 4 or 5 times I've been down there in that time is how calm the water is as there hasn't even been a breeze down this way for a while now, could this have an effect?
  12. Have a look at deception angling, been using them for a year now and they have been superb in every department, if you go on the website they are normally doing some sort of deal, I picked up 4 packs for a tenner last time I bought some.
  13. I wouldn't mind but you actually said he seemed like a decent bloke, some strange people in this world
  14. If your that worried try somewhere else mate,no point of going somewhere that makes you feel uncomfortable, have you looked at crows heath in Wickford, perfectly safe there
  15. Find the deeper water,if your fishing the 1st lake there are depths to around 16 foot, when I've put baits in these areas I have never been bothered by the crays, anything 10ft and under they are on you straight away, don't bother with the big lake at the back, your bait won't last 2 seconds mate, they also have a little lake that used to be a syndicate, small and very weedy but some lovely scaleY's in there.
  16. ive been using deception hooks this year, havent had any problems with them yet, they do some good deals on their website, got 4 packs for a tenner myself. mufty
  17. So their still on the naturals muft ? Natural coconut liver enzyme liquid you cant get more natural than that mate , im heading up there for easter so i will try magot on one rod and cell on the other and see what the fish prefer. mufty
  18. hi mate , bait wise the laet couple of times i fished it i caught on cell, its worth getting the marker out as there are so many bars and gullys and getting to know the features will really help on this lake as the fish very rarely show themselves, ive also done well on maggots this time of year. mufty
  19. not yet mate, i will do at some point, have you fished it mate? mufty
  20. thorpe lea cant be too far from you mate. mufty
  21. hi mate, you might get some answers if you put your location mufty
  22. Yes i know what you mean about looking great on the website fished a complex in mid cambridgeshire near St Ives will not be wasting my time there again. As for catch 22 i would try other forums for info, or googling it to see what has been posted. ive had a look on a couple of other forums and the general rumour is that they lost a hell of a lot of fish in a flood a couple of years back, but if we listened to all the rumours about most lakes then we probably hardly ever go fishing. mufty
  23. cheers pearbo, a 3lb roach would smash my pb by about 2lb , ive been debating for a while about fishing for other species again , this could be the place to start. mufty
  24. kind of mate i use the nash run rings and never have a problem unless i use really heavy leads, having the mainline rubbing direct to the lead swivel creates a lot of friction which can damage and kink the line, if i get the time in the next day or two i will put a pic up mate. mufty
