  1. No, Never on it's own, maybe down to my poor angling
  2. I have tried
  3. Good post, However I still do not have the confidence in fishing them on their own, I find them great as a "tip" bait with Maize, corn or peanuts as they keep the baits on for the cast and add a little buoyancy, plus the visual aspect that’s all.
  4. So are you saying that Carp recognize plastic as a food source because of it's amino acid signature? Let's not forget that it is a synthetic structure so is not made up by proteins, which are made up from amino acids???
  5. That's interesting. So will an inert substance such as plastic change the PH level in the water around it?
  6. This guy is in there Steve!
  7. Nice soft feel Class as usual J
  8. Even as singles fished at range?
  9. Give it a go if your confident in it! For me I have fished Corn tipped with fake corn, and been robbed of the real corn and received no takes! Makes me wonder? but if yours have been glugged, then that makes them a bait in their own right, I think
  10. Fished on its own as a fake bait, sorry I could not do that
  11. Do you have confidence fishing them on their own? I must be honest, I never fish them on their as I have no confidence in them an always fish them as a "Tip" bait, A visual attractor. Would you fish it on its own at say 140 yrds as a single, and expect to catch???
  12. I use Gamakatsu size 6 for boilies and particles, Do you know why? Coz they are nailers, buy your fancy brands, and you will pay more than in $ ! Nuff said!
  13. Hi JS, Sorry never had one! I use Gammas all the time and love them! Pattern: 66810 Carp and Cats to over 20lbs, so they work for me! my friend has just changed over from Owners to Gammas, as he found them to be opening out! Gammas do not, Hope this helps.
  14. As I stated at the start of this thread, MINE
  15. Well done Andy, good Angling!
  16. Yes indeed Tony, As there are many factors involved in this, that is why no rig will hook 100% of the fish!
  17. Thats the safest!
  18. Stops are binned! However this still does guarantee a snag can not form, even from a running lead! At the end of the day we try to fish as "safely" as possible, But with a hook and line many things can happen
  19. Find some hard/clear spots, there will be, then slay them!
  20. The art with this little nugget Jon, is to fish semi slack line, and tension the line with a light hanger, not fished on the floor! It will add tension to the line, but still semi slack, and the bow ( Arc ) effect, is your friend, until they hit the stop! As you can still get drop backs, this is true, This to me is the most sensitive set up I have ever seen, Beep, beep beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepppp!
  21. Buy some then Dave, but make sure they are not too tight, and will slide on the take, you can buy different sizes. Jon, 1-2oz is enough to start the spool wizzing
  22. 6 inches works fine for me, and after a take the stop is 2 ft up the line!
