Sometimes its the hooklink size,i was casting constantly 90+yards to my baited spot kept coming back in tangles,until i changed it to either longer or shorter

I once caught the same fish on 2 rods,he took my first bait then second bait both in his mouth and i was only something like 6lbs

Personally i like west hythe for the carp,theres so many features there.overhanging trees,the dam,etc

Nope its in the canal And the pit your on about is called nicholls pit

The canals excellent for the carp there are a number of 30's in there possible pushing 40,there is fish in there known as the pig a real nice lump 35lb it got caught last,there best place id say to fish is in the central hythe canal,thats where the carp were getting caught under the rowing boats. :wink:I used to be a membe there for 5 seasons before i move to mk so if there any info you need pm me

No cause a bolt rig is less effective at say 100yrds cause of the stretch in the line,thats why sometimes you get a run hit into it and nothings there.
