  1. Just discovered Mo's Co have closed after reading this thread, where do you get your PVA bags from now? I still have a decent stockpile of them but will need more in a few months time.
  2. Safezone leaders aren't very safe. This thread explains why - http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=50371
  3. Whenever i've used pepperami i've never had a bite either. The good thing about it is it stays on the rig for ages, reeling in after 12 hours and it was still on. My advice would be eat the pepperami yourself and use boilies
  4. That's a respectable PB, a lot of people would kill for a 20lber! (Not literally I hope)
  5. 1-2mm seems quite short to me, I like a gap of at least 10mm between hook and hookbait. Some people go a lot longer.
  6. If its any more or less than 2" you WON'T catch. Use a ruler just to be safe!
  7. There are various sites like 'Megaupload' that lets you store files for free for a certain length of time. I'm not sure if it works with excel files but I have used it for videos. I would have thought the best way is to email it to people who PM you.
  8. Some people tie the rig to the mainline and others use quick change clips to attach them. I prefer to use quick change clips as I like to thread a pva bag onto my rig, this way is easier and quicker for me.
  9. i'm sorry but that is an unnfair comment to make. The korda wide gape is the most used carp hook on the market, and i haven't yet (touch wood) dropped a fish on a sharp wide gape. i no you are entitled to your opinion but i thought saying they're rubbish is a bit unfair. Lots of people slate Korda hooks, some people love them and some hate them.
  10. I use 12lb or 15lb Korda IQ with 15lb mainline.
  11. Most people fish semi-fixed leads, so I want to be different, and I think that running leads give increased indication and proper screamers. Ye iv been put off my lead clip set up ever since my mate started catchin more than me wen he started using leadcore on a helicopter rig, our baits were the same but he seemed to always catch a few more than me, i think im gonna have a re think and expiriment with different rig styles.... plus rig tubings really starting to pee me off not being able to slide the line thru it The easiest tubing i've found to thread is Rig Marole Tubing which has the metal insert. The only problem is its the most expensive i've seen at £10 for 6 metres I think it was, its lasted me all year so its not that bad value.
  12. I've heard of people putting putty on the tubing, i've never tried it though. You can fish slack lines to keep everything pinned down to the lakebed as an alternative.
  13. If you're making your own rigs I'd suggest you buy some swivels if you want to use the rig with lead clips. Some people tie rigs with a 'loop knot' instead of a swivel but I prefer swivels. It may be worth researching 'loop knots'. There's lots of pics of different rigs in the rig sticky section. I've posted a few with simple knotless knot rigs and lead clips.
  14. Ive heard that too, also lee jacksons new one. Ive got terry hearns books and they are good. I also like true crime books, read a few about 80s liverpudlian crime families and couldnt stop reading Have you read 'Cocky'? That's not a bad book, lots of scousers and crime in that one
  15. That's my favourite fishing book as well, its quality. 2nd Favourite is probably Terry Hearn's "In Pursuit of the Largest". My favourite non angling book is probably Howard Marks' "Mr Nice". One of the funniest books I've read is "The Raymond Delauney Emails" which is full of wind up emails to various people and companies.
  16. Fishing book or any type of book?
  17. *cough* http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=42625&highlight=belachan
  18. There is an alternative to using shots you could try using 'Fox Kwik Change Pop Up Weights' . I haven't tried them myself but will probably buy some next year to try, I rarely use pop ups.
  19. I think that is quite good Chris The song is quite fitting if the rig is put in the right place at the right time
  20. thanks...not done a review before but wanted to let folks know how funny the book is in places,as said his determination to catch carp is rather amazing at times.....i dont mean in a pile the bait in and wait kind of way more of things like breaking ice in his pants and fishing swims that are not really swims......a kind of action man angler I ordered today, £25 from Waterstones with free postage I've got Chilcott's book 'Tackling Carp' but thats just a how to fish book rather than his story which was what I wanted to read.
  21. Good review, its persuaded me to buy it
  22. If a piece of music you put in is longer you can just click on it in the timeline and drag the length of the music clip backwards to the last frame in the video, the music will end when the video ends then.
  23. I'd make the text larger so its easier to read and possibly put some nice relaxing fishing music in the background
  24. I've always used the Korda Lead Clips and have had a few hundred carp using them. I stopped using them in May and have been using inline leads since so haven't had any need for a leadclip and I've saved a few pounds on leads
  25. I know you can split videos in Windows Movie Maker but its not compatible with quicktime files. If the file is converted into WMV format its easy to do in movie maker. I had software to convert files but it stopped working when I switched laptops. Is the format your camera records MOV? Try googling 'splitting MOV files'
