  1. i started using corda wide gape but the last few trips ive been trying the gardener mugga's....i like the shape and they stay nice and sharp can fault them yet
  2. size 22 that is a small hook!
  3. thanks...not done a review before but wanted to let folks know how funny the book is in places,as said his determination to catch carp is rather amazing at times.....i dont mean in a pile the bait in and wait kind of way more of things like breaking ice in his pants and fishing swims that are not really swims......a kind of action man angler
  4. nearly finished chilly's book....i dont really know a great deal on the well known carp boys these days but ive read a few bits of his writings in various mags and wanted to know more, the book takes you from his army days right through his fishing carreer its so funny in places some of the things they got up too and the amount of cold ones drunk im suprised they caught any carp at all had me laughing out loud! but what does shine through is the amount of time and determination he has put into his anging and with a very ill wife too....i would say chilly is as hard as nails and must be a superb guy to fish with if you ave £25 burning a hole in your pocket you wont regret buying this book, great storys and tales and some stunning pics too

    lead clips

i like the korda lead clips and have used them since my return to carping....i tried a runing lead set up the other week and did not feel confident......maybe its a case of what you feel better using
  8. I use the knot diagram that comes with the Kryston packing. I can't remember seeing it in More Knot Stickies though http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=32236 http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=25551 Tie, but don't pull tight an overhand knot in the hooklink, with the tag end go back through the overhand knot, and then 4 times round the hooklink. Then go back up through the overhand loop. Lubricate, and pull tight gradually on both tag end and loop. If you want to use a swivel, then thread that on before you make your first go down the overhand knot. i looked at both those threads first but i was unsure of the name of the knot is it this one?
  9. might be obvious to some but i want to try fishing sticks my question is what is the best knot for the loop that will fix to the quick link? i have had a good look round the site but i still feel unsure help please
  10. many thanks honka! thats most helpfull, cant wait to get on the bank and try my arm......even if i dont catch it will be a good lesson and it will be even better to escape the rat race for two days and nights
