In this situation I'd prefer to use and an adjustable zig and cast to the fish on the surface as I would if using a controller setup then once in place tweak your zig so it pops just under the surface film, this way you can cast all over the place without the need to keep lengthening and shortening the zig hook link
This could work great with something like these -
Still using the original GT-80

Is there a simple way to shorten the hair once the rig is tied other than the obvious of tying a new rig or doing in the right length to start with?

Don't really see the need for the tubing

The fact it's choddy as you say kind of becomes irrelevant when you're able to lower your bait in as you have the control and ability to nicely nestle the bait where you want it within reason without too much fear of it getting buried like you would if casting any distance
Stick with your basic running rigs with bottom baits and fingers crossed the big 'un will be along soon
If crays are a huge problem see about leaving a crayfish pot/net and removing as many as you can providing you're allowed plus they make great eating

You should post some before and after shots then

any pictures?

Buy her a she-wee and tell her she can now pop behind a tree like the rest of us, see how that goes down

I know its Cornwall and not Devon but there's White Acres that has everything you require

Sounds like bream to me, I get that all the time on the river
What bait and size were you using?

If you want anglers to use dip tanks then they should be placed around the lake and not in the car park where most anglers can't be bothered to unpack their nets, slings and mats to disinfect to have to pack it away again so they can carry it to their swim

Out of curiosity how much would it roughly cost to buy those ingredients to make around 10 kilos of bait?
-
I normally use a clear/gravel colour leader or tubing and mottle it up with some marker pens to break it up a little and am more than happy to use the in most lakes

Hoping to get a week in at the end of July and wanted any updated info on the place if anybody has fished it recently
I've had a quick search on here but not a great deal really
Thanks in advance

There's plenty of fluorocarbon hooklinks out there
what name and brand please??
There are numerous brands out there and it all depends on what you're wanting from it, to what you buy
There are very supple soft options that will act a little like braid with its freedom to move right up to a very stiff bristle filament which would be similar to some of the harder coated braids

Bedchair / Chair Elastic

I'm too tight to buy a new chair and my elastic has started to go brittle and thing especially where it goes through the eyelets so I just going to replace it
Is there a specific grade/strand/thickness of elastic to get, not sure how its measured?
Thanks
