  1. I use this method to get round this problem. 1st is tie a set up similar to a marker float, but use a clear in-line bubble float in place of the marker float. Then attach a 4' zig rig. Variable depth & pops up a treat Sorry Courtz, you posted while i was still typing
  2. I'm happy with it so far. I use it on 1 rod, to compare results. It's still early days, but it's looking good
  3. It's Nash. Cheapest place i found it was e-bay
  4. Yeh, if Benson somehow swam all the way over from France.... I thought he swam from Holland
  5. I use triggalink on a bolt rig, on 1 of my rods. it's working well so far I usually get 30 seconds worth of bleeps on the alarm, before the screamer hits. I get the impression that the carp is confused by the rig. So sit on your hands, & wait for it to run properly
  6. i'd try a longer hair. sounds like the carp are feeling the hook straight away.

    Hooks

I never check mine after I have cast cos I think swimming out will scare the fish classic
  8. it may be a simple solution. PVA bags work really well in weed (or anywhere else for that matter) tight spot of bait, tangle free & nothing for your hook to snag on.

    hermit rig

    think i'll stick to triggalink
  10. thats it. once you have the bait on, pass the hooklink through the back of the hook, get you hair length as long/short as you want it, then tie the knotless. can't go wrong
  11. the simple answer is, when tying rigs, put the bait on first. so tie the hair, put your boilie/boilies on, then knotless knot to the hook. hope this makes sense
  12. haven't used this stuff, so can't comment. have you tried looking at a few online shops to get a price?
  13. hi kezza this may sound obvious, but either use a bigger hook (middy's are usually match style hooks) or a thinner diameter braid?
  14. using a mono hooklength may help to reduce tangles
  15. black imitation sweetcorn over hemp for me
  16. to be honest, if your inexperienced with leadcore, i'd buy 1 ready made. it's the safest option.
  17. i don't use leadcore often, but esp & kryston score gold are both very good.
  18. http://www.fishandfly.co.uk/knots/needle/index.html this shows the needle knot using fly backing line. it's the same for leadcore, except you must remove about an inch or so of the inner lead.
  19. i know i fished saturday night, but haven't a clue what i did during the day was it a white kangoo van? hopefully (as in, i hope ) we can get a day's fishing in soon bud
  20. i'd love to. but i'm on the 2 till 10 shift at least i've got a long weekend to look forward to
