  1. mine😁 lol, i'm not exactly great at it so I can always do with a few more subscribers😉 Mark Carp
  2. I use them for hanging the inner boxes on the outside one😉
  3. i'm with kevtaylor, i'm a 'torrix te' user myself and they are exceptional rods
  4. i use the jag hook sharpening system, only the vice and file though, no need for either of the stones, you can get your hook sharp enough without them
  5. good call, I leaned my casting by watching terry Edmonds and mark Hutchinson on youtube, I got a mate to film me then asked him and a few others to pick faults which over time I ironed out
  6. petzl for me too
  7. good luck mate, I've tried a few over the years, the best I've come up with so far is similar to harpz, I have an avid restbite which is a proper lay flat bed and the same as harpz I've tightened the elastics as far as I can and I use a pillow for head support, what I was trying to achieve was my head/neck being in alignment with my spine when i'm lying on my side and for it to be firm with no sagging the no sagging is really important, I even considered trying to put wooden slats under the matress at one point. if we had a bedchair that didn't rely on an elasticated matress and was solid underneath with no sagging at all and a nice comfy matress on top, I reckon the company that made it would be quids in
  8. same rods I use
  9. they are banned on nearly all my waters too mate, I had one specifically for a syndicate that had power lines running across it, I bought it when I joined because it was the best and safest way to get to the fish, when I left I sold it. no point in having one if the rules say you can't use it
  10. up to £300 a rod i'd say harrisons, either the torrix or the newer aviators, both are high end carp rods, great for playing fish on but with the power to cast an awful long way
  11. I used to own a viper icon, nice boat, it did what it was supposed too they are quite heavy on the batteries so it pays to have a few spares and a decent method of charging them, solar is ok when its sunny but I used to take a power unit that has a mains outlet on it, that way I could use my mains charger on the bank
  12. currently i'm using gold labels pro clear in 16lb, apart from that i also rate big game in 15lb
  13. drennan double strength for me too
  14. i just use the same rigs i use for lake fishing
  15. personal choice really, i tried both and became more confident with my tigernut hookbaits sinking very very slowly with just the weight of the hook to take them down
  16. i use it in the right circumstances, for me thats usually really close in floater fishing/stalking
  17. personally i like kamasan b175's, they are trout hooks but they work very well for carp in the larger sizes (6 and 4) they don't break the bank either, i bought a new box of 100 last week for just over £8
  18. interesting thread, i've suffered this problem myself in the past, a series of hookpulls and missed runs at maximum range. i never did solve the problem but i'm inclined to go with the lack of bait idea as i was fishing beyond baiting range with single hookbaits for pressured fish
  19. don't use mantis often, like everyone else i use my teeth
  20. i don't think i've ever used anything smaller than a 10 for carp fishing
  21. i use a gardener rig bin to store zigs
  22. backleads are ok, the only time i would think about bite indication when using backleads is when fishing to a snag of some kind, otherwise i'm quite happy and i use them for 95% of my fishing sometimes i use both flying and normal backleads together in order to get my line tight to the bottom, specially in clear water
