Thanks Bud.. Felindre can’t help which surprised me somewhat but I’ll look into the others you’ve quoted.. Afraid not my friend.. I have seen aftermarket ‘speed caps’ offered by Wester Developments and Custom Reel King but they tend to be listed for Daiwa and later Shimano Ultegra’s which have different drag arrangements. I’ll make a few phone calls and enquire if their products can be ‘modded’ to accommodate as an aluminium front drag cap would be much more dependable me thinks.. Many Thanks - Salmo9..

Can anyone help please.. I’m looking for a replacement front drag kn ob which is missing from a recent preloved purchase.. Me thought ‘no problem, Shimano will stock those things’.. Hello everyone - Been fishing all my days and recently retired.. I’ve also decided to give up the game fishing scene which has become far too expensive with little to no return.. My imagination has now been stirred by YouTubers landing stunning carp in wonderful surroundings and I’m up for some of that.. So, I’ve invested in a couple of old Ron Thompson Warlords coupled with early Shimano Aerlex 8000’s, curtesy of ‘the bay’, plus a motley bunch of other ‘green’ preloved stuff to keep me comfortable and on the right side of the fishery owners.. Im looking forward to investing a lot of time (and more dosh, no doubt) in this new ‘adventure’.. Hope to see you out and about.. Cheers for now..
