    New asso carp line

Well used it for the first time yesterday and got to say I am mightily impressed with it. Casts well, but more importantly sinks well, which is what it's advertised to do! It hangs nicely through the rings, the only thing I can't comment on is it's fish playing properties, 'cos I blanked! Got snagged up in a tree going for a really tight rig placement and had to pull for a break. Very strong, it went off like the crack from a rifle when it eventually did break. Just a little bit of curly wurly at the very end, snipped that off and it threaded perfectly through some new rig tubing. So far, a big thumbs up from me. Just got to wait until I hook into a fish now.

  2. No luck lads unfortunately. Weather wasn't too bad in the end, the predicted rain had stopped by the time I got there, and the sun came out a bit later so didn't have to use the brolly! Had one "take" (a bit of a half hearted one) late in the afternoon, but missed it. The big Koi was out strutting her stuff, she's easily visible as she cruises around, how I'd love to catch her. A couple of other fish shouldered but all fairly quiet. Nice to be out though. Couple of other lads were on a 48 in the swim closest to me, they'd had nothing either. One of them had an aborted run at 2 that morning, got him out of the sack. I said to him that if you're going to get an aborted run, 2am is the best time to get one!! First time out with the new Asso line. Very impressed I must say. Sinks really, really well. Casts well too and hangs nicely through the rings. Strong too! Got snagged in a branch in my endeavors to get into the small bay. Pulled for a break, line eventually snapped, sounded like the crack from a rifle, you could hear it all around the lake. Not sure if that's a good thing or bad lol! Oh well, there's always next week. Fingers crossed.

    Baiting Pole

Ok, so I went and bought a few bits tonight, enough for a 12mtr baiting pole...I'll try and get it done over the next couple of days, depending on the weather, comes to around £30, but there will be stuff left over for extra sections....... I did see this on the bay yesterday..£150 which goes 18mtres, carbon pole, probably less bulky than the one I'm having a go at.. If I had a spare £150, I'd be tempted..... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Corus-18m-Long-Reach-Baiting-Pole-Includes-Float-And-Spoon-Carp-Fishing-Tackle/263216597298?hash=item3d48ee8932:m:mOZ2UDDlqCR173KscnQ9m7w Just gonna try and knock something up , for those on a tight budget. Should have some pics, hopefully some from the bank too, by the weekend.

    Poseidon Ground Tester

It weighs 150 grams if I recall, so it should cast like a rocket. But if you use it in water with alot of snags, the chances of having it lost is too great. And its extremely expensive, around 32£/$45 I think.

    Poseidon Ground Tester

Don't think it's really for hard gravel , think it's really to help finding what silt your fishing over whether it's the good stuff or the smelly horrible one , I would like to see someone cast a old sweetcorn can out and get the same result ..... don't think I will bother getting one but I can see why some would....
