Thanks for all the feedback chaps. Floods a couple years ago meant a lot of the river anglers were fishing the pools and then lockdown gave a lot of people time to fill, Thankfully found a nice quiet place locally, 8 pegs and closed during the week. A 28:12 came out last year and the boss tell me there's a good stock of 20's. Far from being a runs water, so best get my thinking head on for next weekend

To be fair most pop ups on the market are designed not to be ingestied (its in the small print usually), technically they have probably detected the fact that your bait is attached to something eg. your rig before working out the bait has a cork ball in it.

On his website it's advertised at £220 but reduced to £110 so grab yourself a bargain! I've never read it but did hear reviews that's it's well over the heads of most Carp anglers. I buy my bait from a tackle shop and may tweak it a little bit by softening or adding boosters and a bit of a powder. I've found that the more read about bait, the more confused I become (or is it just me?) Bait Barons want you to catch and buy from them again and so I'm happy to let them get on with it. They may make a bit of money but I've spent too long in the kitchen playing about with baits and it's time consuming and often fruitless and you don't know if you've caught/blanked because of the bait.

North America definitely has more commons than mirrors. Real leathers are a very rare beast indeed. In over 30years of fishing I have only ever caught 2 genuine totally nude carp.
