    The gap I believe is there to allow longer use, the more often you slide them together the more microscopic amounts of material will me removed making the female bore bigge, over many years of use this will allow for the two sections to slide together snuggly. Over years the gap will get smaller as the two section slide closer together where the blank has been worn down..........well that’s my thoughts on it anyway 😁

  2. Be getting to the secret lake just before dark. One rod , pva sticks already made up and a loaf of bread just in case they are on the surface. Can't wait.

  3. I use a korum net and pole a 36" net is just the right length fox did a traveller or explorer net that the arms broke in half and a telescopic handle that is pretty good but havent seen them for years

    I remember this coming up on the old CAG forum, and the consensus was that honestveek is right. Iirc there are a couple of ways that sanding the spigot could ruin the rod (either making it loose or seating it flush and never getting it apart again) and nothing to gain.

    They should always have a gap at the spigot. Once there is no gap they are worn out and you will be building them back up with candle wax!
