Same Problem with lots of Braids and there is an answer to it. Some may get air trapped in between the fibres, even though branded as a Sinking Braid. Get them wet first, squeeze the water out and then cast them out after testing. Other people rub Putty up and down the braid to sink it, or Kryston did or still do a product called "drop em", which you put small pieces on the Braid. Which ones have you used? Just ask because I've found that the Kryston ones are ok and not stiff. beanz Posted September 1, 2006 Report Share Posted September 1, 2006 mantis ,snakebite reveal but the worst is hybrid ,but i guess the fluorocarbon inpregnates its more but i tested them dry over the edge of a table so maybe unfair test fox reveal is good but the coating to thick and the inners white the drennan iv had in my box for a while but recently dug it out and added a lenght of shrink tube to the loop end to act as a boom to stop the lead tangling and its doing the job a simplefied combi rig really but the loop is supple Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
salokcinnodrog Posted September 1, 2006 Report Share Posted September 1, 2006 I Hate Hybrid, I know that it was prone to "going off" and snapping for no apparent reason and they recalled a load. Never bought it since, once bitten twice shy and once I've had a problem I don't go back to the same stuff. If Korda had got it right first time I may still be using it! In Coated Braids Mantis, Mantis Gold and Snakebite I love them, been using them for a lot of my fishing. Normal Braids; Been using Supernova a bit this year, had a few fish on it when used in Combi Links. The nicest Braid I used was SuperSilk. It doesn't look right when you first get it, as it's white, but it takes on the colour of the Lake bed very quickly and camouflages itself. craftycarper4 Posted September 2, 2006 Report Share Posted September 2, 2006 I have been fart assing about with krystons multi-strand for pop up rigs i have been making for margin fishing with a simple inline arrangement which i have found works superbly, esp strip tease is excellent for standard simple rigs, but i have been using snake bite gold which is at the top of my tacklebox its simply super for my rigs and situations, its nice and supple good to tie rigs with and excellent with the coated part striped back for the hinge effect. this leaves me with a good presentation i find it working well for me so i have great confidence. nicko15 Posted September 3, 2006 Report Share Posted September 3, 2006 i think sufix 'camo skin' and 'kameleon' are good hooklinks. they are coated braids but are very good for hinged rigs. but for a heavy hooklink you could try sufix heavy skin.
