zander1 Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 what do you think is the best coated braid and why?, i favour korda hybrid and fox reveal to anything else this is more of a personal opinion post rather than anything else, gratefull for all replys Quote
shakey Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 I favour Super mantis. I have tried a few of the others and felt they weren't as good for various reasons. Quote

666carpcatcher Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 The one im useing at the mo and rate quite high is the ESP Striptease Quote
lizardking Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 I dont use braid too much but i'm a fan off suffix camo Quote
matt16 Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 Quote The one im useing at the mo and rate quite high is the ESP Striptease i also rate this very easy to strip unlike some other coated braids Quote
stoogi Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 ESP Striptease or Fox Cortex. Found both to be very reliable Quote
salokcinnodrog Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 Quote I favour Super mantis. I have tried a few of the others and felt they weren't as good for various reasons. Mantis for me too, although I do use SnakeBite at times. Mantis is the Braid one and Snakeskin is Multi Strand. SnakeBite is also good and again a braided inner. Quote
zander1 Posted December 3, 2007 Author Report Posted December 3, 2007 i like the fox coretex but the diffence in stiffness between the coating and the inner braid isnt enough, much the same as the suffix sheath skin, thats why i favour the fox reveal and the korda hybrid even tho they are quite thick Quote
silly12sally Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 I fish snaggy waters and find Snakebite to be perfect for this. I know it is thick so if you are fishing gin clear water you may wish to use something else. I like the fact you can peel it back and use it for pop ups. Quote
courtz Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 I dont used coated braid, a sheathed fluorocarbon for me Rig Marole hydrolink 15lb in black Really rate it Quote
carpingod150 Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 Mantis, the original and still the best Quote
shakey Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 Quote I dont used coated braid, a sheathed fluorocarbon for me Rig Marole hydrolink 15lb in black Really rate it Courtz, i've heard good things about the Rig Marole hydrolink. I've been thinking about try the green verison out next season, it's just i've been using Mantis for a long time and i'm thinking "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" Quote
courtz Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 I like the thinking behind it and have got on well using it, I'm not too keen on the green version, as it seems too green if you get me. I've found that the grey/black blends in to almost all lake bottoms. The exposed braid bit is very supple, as there will be none of the coating holding the starnds together. Quote
grego Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 I can back that on hydrolink its good stuff, struggled having confidence in it at first because i was used to using kryston (swapped to korda for 6 months and i now have nightmares about it so im not too confident when it comes to choosing hooklinks other than kryston now) Quote
