yet again another move for me, up to matlock in derbyshire only this time i'm getting my gear together again and afeter 2 years of the water i'm going to make a point of getting back out there!! any advice on waters around derbyshire? the bigger the better really new work commitments restrain me from shooting down the M1 to my old stomping grounds

personally i dont really rate the Korda stuff, Suffix do some really good coated braids, i use that a lot and have total confidence in it

I'm not a big fan of leadcore, and if it is used inproperly can be absolutley leathal! make sure you really think about safety when setting you rigs up with it. Flurocarbon leaders or the korda ones staed above are worth a try

Chris rose' winng maggot rig This months total carp thats the problem i had with the medusa rig, i guess any rig with maggots is risky in any water with a large stock of silver fish

i saw this rig in a mag recently was thinking about giving it a go, you had much result on it?

Had a fair bit of success on the medusa rig but it does take a bit of effort not great when your hands are feezing

Hastings and bexhill district angling club has a fair chunk or the royal military canal aswell a a few others, CEMEX just got a few rivers in the south too

I use the same rigs all year round i just scale them down a bit

I don't know how many of you know of the Freshwater informer, it's a free mag based in the South east, it's a general angling publication but it does feature a fair amount of carp related articles. I picked up the knew issue today and found a section by Ken south titled: "safety rigs, When fishing for carp we all have the responsibility to ensure that the rigs we use are as safe as they can possibly be" and can you guess which rig he is endorsing as the safest rig? The ever debatable 360 Shocked Shocked After reading the thread about the rig published in TC i thought this deserved a place to have you views with the intention of fowarding it on. I know this rig is not dangerous when used in the right surcumstances but it is one that should not be put up as an all round safety rig i'm sure you'll agree.

What about a critically balanced wafter? How much do you know about the lake? i was thinking about having a look myself soon, that carp on the front is a beautiful fish!
