Wensum Chub

I waited until dark to avoid the children, paddle boarders and kayakers on the River Wensum.
4½lb chub on half a cocktail sausage, size 10 Solar Tackle 101 hook.

Nice chunky fish mate, remember the late John Wilson was always a great fan of the Wensum, good to see otters have not completly decemated the river too 👍

There have been a few about. I think that what saves this stretch is actually how busy with people it can be, and the otters don't get the chance to settle. They have had some of the chub, perch and pike, but with so many paddleboarders and kayakers going in and out near the mill and car park, fish are given a refuge.

I'm there again tonight, so we'll see if the chub are about again.
