Tuckab Posted June 30, 2022 Report Posted June 30, 2022 Morning all, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good overnight lake with big carp in the Leicestershire area. I was planning a trip to Makins but wanted to see if there were any more scenic or fun lakes that I'm unaware of. Cheers, Tom Quote

Head half an hour South to Northants and there's loads of places. Stanwick Lakes is a good starting point. While Makins does hold big carp it's actually a match venue. Far removed from what most would consider a typical carp water. Quote

I've had a look at Stanwick and the bigger lake with decent sized fish is fully booked this Saturday. Do you have any other recommendations within a 30 - 45 minutes drive of LE65? Quote
Tuckab Posted June 30, 2022 Author Report Posted June 30, 2022 Reading Ryecroft in Castle Donnington might be worth a look. Quote

welder Posted June 30, 2022 Report Posted June 30, 2022 Tuckab, you might want to consider travelling a little north to Newark. Cromwell Lake is a cracking fishery and holds some big fish. Ian. Quote
