Carpbell_ll Posted May 25, 2019 Report Share Posted May 25, 2019 (edited) Just back from a visit to Stockton Reservoir, real nice venue for doubles with the possibility of a twenty, the lake is 6-7 acres in a lovely part of Warwickshire and there is a caravan site next door with two smaller pools and the canal. it is all part of the Blue Lias pub, that serves a nice pint of Abbots. The caravan site is 60 quid for three nights including electric hook-up, so i was told, thought it was a bargain myself. Anglers can use the pub/campsite toilets and if you keep your day/night tickets the seventh visit is free, 25 nicker for 24 hour fishing. the average size seemed to be 12-17lb with the chance of the unknown mid 20 maybe a low thirty, if not now they will at some point, few guys there just float fishing for a mixed bag, some nice Perch and Roach coming out and proper Crucian plus some big battles with small carp on the centre pin, when i got there i seen a split cane rod bent double and the angler having a real tussle with a small carp, i got all my gear around the lake and set up before he landed it. No sign of spawning, i was told they have already spawned once this year so they were well on the munch.
