Guest andypalf
I heard some people on here say that they use packing foam (you know the pieces that look like Wotsits) on their rigs. I didn't realise that it dissolves, but I just tried it and it does! My questions: it does leave some small white debris in the water. Is it safe to use packing foam to help rig presentation? Is it as effective as PVA foam? Cheers
kevtaylor
As far as I'm aware its the same stuff, both leave the same residue which will vanish completely over time. Its just that some mugs want to buy small pots of it for a small fortune from tackle manufacturers. My mate brings me a sack full every now and then. tonybranno
Is it as effective as PVA foam? Like Kev says, it is the exact same stuff. I can get bags of it from work for nothing.
mendy
same stuff all they do is put CARP infront of PVA then put in a bag with name onfront ie gardner and sell it couple of quid for a small bag wen if you go to the right place you can pick up a big bag for same price
salokcinnodrog
Think you will find its made from maize or corn Starch. Its dissolvable in water. Available from Early Learning Centre as a Kids "toy" cheaper than Tackle Shops, or a Mate if you have someone working in a Factory/warehouse environment Easier to use than PVA in certain situations, to mask the hookpoint to prevent weed fouling, to hold back hairs when casting.
