Miltz308 Posted July 9, 2015 Report Share Posted July 9, 2015 (edited) Hi guys, Ahead of my first carp trip in years I'm trying to sort out my rig. So far I have decided I will be using this rig set up (below the lead) ... But cannot work out the best way to attach the lead (I'm not sure how the tubing works with that lead set up, weather it is necessary etc). I was thinking of a running lead to ensure I get an alarm when a fish takes the bait but to be honest I am really in the dark with weather I even need that? What should you guys suggest (and if you have the time.. how do I do it)? I have checked out the Safe Lead Setup sticky but was hoping for some more guidance on how those rigs work and how to set them up effectively Cheers guys!! Sam. hutch Posted July 9, 2015 Report Share Posted July 9, 2015 But cannot work out the best way to attach the lead For the rig you have linked the video for the lead sits in a clip you cant see it in the video as the tail rubber is slid down over the top. The rig in the video basically constructs like this, thread a length of tubing (weather that is anti tangle or tungsten based) on to the main line, follow that with a tail rubber and then the lead clip, attach rig. The lead clip will slid onto the swivel the better ones come with a peg to fix the swivel in place to aid lead ejection, place lead in the clip slid the tail rubber over the clip (how far you push it on depends on how much pressure you need for the lead to come off when snagged), push the tubing into the tail rubber and your done. Make sure the length of tubing is longer than your rig and then a little extra to help stop tangles. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
