stoogi Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 with a little pva tape to hold the 2 together during the cast, i think that rig could work very well. Quote
ceelyr Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 I like the fact that its the hook that moves back into the mouth and not the boilie...i can see that working well... Quote
trevor1 Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 Has anybody tried this rig,if so what was the outcome? Quote
slinger Posted April 1, 2007 Author Report Posted April 1, 2007 Yes. The inventor of the rig was catching 40lb'ers and big lumps on the rig. As stoogi has said...... you could try using a length of pva, or alternatively.... once tied the hooklength, on the boillie line, just a fraction under the level of the eye of the hook, tie in a loop, and thread the hook length through so as the 2 lines stay together. as so......... UNTRIED, but I can't see any reason why this would take anything away from the structure of the rig. (I would also offer the alternative of using a rig ring as opposed to tying a loop, but that may mean balancing the boillie with cork) Quote
martinrodd Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 dident martin clarke devise this rig i seem to remember jim gibbinson giving his opinion on it in carpworld Quote

Also from Memory I think they were Published in The Korda guide to Rigs Apparently he had some very good fish on them. I don't know whether he lowered the rigs in or cast them, but I do know that they worked Quote
newcarpfisherman Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 aw thats a wierd rig...i would tihnk when you cast during flight it wil get tangled Quote
salokcinnodrog Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 Thinking about the Description of the Doghouse the Baits were lowered into the Margins rather than cast out in most cases Quote
newcarpfisherman Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 in that way it wont be to bad...it looks like it presents the bait wel l thou Quote
tigernuttom Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 i saw that rig on here on tuesday, tied one up as i was a bit bored, thought what the heck, so i dropped it in the margins with a fake tiger hookbait and an hour later had a 28 off it, and the biggest fish to come out of there for a while. well chuffed!!! slinger Posted April 20, 2007 Author Report Posted April 20, 2007 Spot on advice stoogi. I used the rig last weekend, and used the pva string tied tight around. Result. Twice. Page 138/1423 Korda Advanced Rig Book. Tackling hard waters. Quote

slinger Posted April 23, 2007 Author Report Posted April 23, 2007 Whether he has changed his views is irrelevant. The rig is what is in debate, and it works just as well now as it did when Martin Clarke designed it. Quote

Just that he seems to be doing the same as the "Norm" now. Yet the book shows some very good advice that he seems to have come away from? Quote
