nathanhuynh
nobody said to use it with only maggots Have you read the original post.? Fake maggots were only mentioned as tip. I meant amongst the real maggots not to replace the corn
nathanhuynh
Everybody seems to think that boilie rule, but a live and moving bait I catch loads on! I find that I catch heaps of winter carp on maggot rigs with this rig being my new favourite! It was mentioned in total carp, I tried it and it seems to work epicly by taking away the weight of the hook (not that I believe that) and by actualy moving as attraction. Also dont limet yourself to red maggot because white and orange are more visable and are good when mixed. Where is the orrigonality in using an unnatural bait on the hair? Oh and don't use maggots in the spring/summer if your venue had roach/bream/crucians because take the bait all the time. Also if your venue has minnows because they chew the maggots therefore making them useless.
andy52
Think you'll find, Nathan, that no-one thinks boillies are the be all end all, maggots are a fantastic bait for carp, as is sweet corn, hemp, tigers, and loads more others

grahamdyke
Have used this in the past. I use a Korum hook that have the eye with no join. Quite big in comparison to the hook. They were also barbed.Once one is pulled into the plastic corn, there is no chance of it coming out without two opposing forces pulling on it. i have used this rig many times and i love it. Those korum hooks seem to be difficult to get hold of now. I think they have changed the packaging? has anyone used these or the new versions, if so, are the new ones any good?
