Hi all, was having a look around on Facebook and saw this stunning fish just caught from the above. Absolute stunner - 40lb 2oz - caught on five star baits banana & seed according to Facebook.

 

Anyone ever been? As thinking now that I may take a trip up there, as Leicestershire isn't that far!!

I went around 4 years ago. Nice place. I had one of the lodges for the family and I bivvied on the lake just outside.

 

It had some teething problems in the lodge as it was a relatively new place and the surrounding area is a bit quiet.

 

Fishing wise I scored quite well- with probably 6-10 fish a day and a few decent cats thrown in. It was quite a hungry water and I got through probably 50 KG of bait whilst I was there.

Was that the leicester one or the one in Wales? As this was from the Leicester one I think. Not sure the lodges are finished at the L one? But saw there was one in Wales too

Being from Leicester thats a real surprise fish!

 

Bet the place will be busy now

 

I suppose most Leicester carpers travel away to fish, funny to hear people talking about travelling to come here, never thought I'd see the day! Great fish though, looks like it could pack on more weight too

Yeah, I think from what I read he was pretty surprised, altho had seen some big fish skulking around!!

 

Yeah, I bet every carp angler and his dog will be up there now!! lol.

 

Absolute stunner, would love that in my catch log!! Yeah, looks like it could be getting a bit of bait now too!!

I was told the other day its going season ticket only after a stocking in the a month or so and will have a ticket price of £500 dont know if its true or not
