serbusfish
Just been out and bought some size 10 hooks with 10lb breaking strain but when I got home I found they only have a 4" hook length. Is this going to be long enough for ledger + float fishing? They are hair rig hooks, i'll be using sweetcorn, bacon grill, cheese, etc. My main line is red 15lb line which is why im concerned, im thinking the fish are going to see the red line as it will be close to the hook. jemsue5
way to short for float fishing at that length they will probably be designed for method feeder rigs.

I thought as much, i'll have to take them back and swap them. Btw what is the ideal length for ledger/float? I think I usually use 15". jemsue5
15" will be fine for the float or lead.

tmjones
you shouldnt have a problem with red line because red is the first colour to become invisible under water.
muftyboy
i have heard it mentioned that the colour red becomes invisible under water, just wondering if that means that carp cannot see red boilies? mufty
