Just wanted to let you know that this event is back again this year:

This year’s Forces Carp Classic is happening over the period 20 – 27 Oct 2012. Due to great support from our sponsors, this year’s event has over £5000.00 in cash available to the lucky winners.

The event is designed for ANY member or ex member of the Armed Forces of any country in EUROPE, Territorial Army, Reserve or Emergency Services (Police, Ambulance and Fire Brigade) to enter a fantastic pair’s competition in France. Any MOD personnel, MPGS, GGS & anyone who works for the Forces is also entitled to enter this prestigious event.

For the entry forms and more details send an email to forcescarpclassic@hotmail.co.uk or speak to Russ on 07827 324980. A minimum deposit of £60.00 will secure your place and get these in quickly, as places are in great demand.

Guys

Although this year’s event has been full for a very long time unfortunately we have had a few pairs drop out last week due to commitments.

But that does leave spaces available for this year’s event, we know it’s rather short notice (5-12 Oct) but If you know of anyone that may be interested then please get them to email us here at: forcescarpclassic@hotmail.co.uk

Thank you in advance for your help in this matter and speak to you soon.

Regards Tim

Love to do this but Canada rears its ugly head again.

A-hem! Suffield and most other military preserves in Canada were chosen because they have sandy soil that makes poor farmland but is good for digging trenches and staging tank battles/artillery shoots. It's Godforsaken looking and pool-table flat and can be incredibly hot in summer but driving past on the highway I often see herds of antelope, which is nice. Just taking a dig, Canada is not all ugly. :) My car broke down in southern Alberta on a hot day once but it didn't matter, I already had a prejudice against the place. Met some nice helpful people though so there was a saving grace.

I am currently in the process of being discharged from the service for wounds sustained in afghan. I would love to go, but am in that horrible grey area between your military life and scary old civvy street!! Not able to make many plans.

Ever thought of talking to soldier magazine? Ive seen carping events advertised before now mate.

Ouchthathurt, I know that feeling bud I left in May last year, been in one job for 9 months but left just recently...!!! Now unemployed..!!!

Yes we have tried Soldier and in other Corps Mags but just keep trying as many different places as possible.

If you log in with our website, at least you will know what's coming up in the future and can then maybe attend or not???

Best of luck, Tim

I'll definiatley check the website out mate, cheers!

Im on the hunt for work at the moment, wanting to go back to the NHS but its not as easy to go back to the NHS as i thought, nor are they as "enthusiastic" to hire us crazy army medics... I blame the repeated "PTSD" paramedic storyline on casualty myself... (yes that storyline does my head in!! How many times can they rehash the same thing over and over? Some of us have developed PTSD, along with physical injuries but we get over it!)

I need to get it squared, the work is out there, i just gotta find it!
