Guest frosty6770 Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 Evening chaps/ladies. Im looking to go to cobbleacre in the summer for a few days. Ive never fished it before so any info would be welcome. Cheers. Quote
foreman Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 If you get in the snags swim that would be ideal, slack lines, stay well back from the waters edge, corn and hemp. They do like there floaters as well. Quote
david1982 Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 i would say avoid it like the plague. me and a couple of mates booked to go last summer. we got there and walked round the lake to find there was only 3 swins available when the 3 of us had booked well in advance! on top of that the lakes very small, there's campers with kids running around everywhere and the owners got an attitude problem. i'd do what we did and go somewhere else! there's much better places nearby. david1982 Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 sorry, i meant only 2 swims available when 3 of us had booked in advance! Quote
theloner Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 i havent fished it for 4 years but always found it a nice place, true some regulars are berks but never was packed and if Chay Jacko is still baliff he was always really nice. wouldnt take any nonsense though, but a top chap. mite be different guy now Quote
david1982 Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 i'm thinking of a big fella with a 4x4. sorry but the over booking is onforgiveable in my eyes Quote

blank Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 you will be pestered by small cats all the time your there Quote
julian502 Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 some people just slagg fisheries off so bad tbh i done a few nights on here very very clean lake! never had any hassle here at all max 7 anglers i think it is. but most swims will produce with lawns, snags, caspers being good swims. it is true the cats can be a big problem one night session first cat after two hours was 18lb then the next 7 were all around 6lb. hard trying to catch carp with them keep picking up your baits. all in all very nice lake and bob the baliff isnt that bad just doesnt like people messing around which is a good thing. david1982 Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 I don't want to slate the place and it was a while ago but I can only tell it as I found it.no point saying it was brilliant when that wasn't what happened.if you look at the few places I've commented on you will see I don't put places down for the sake of it Quote
david1982 Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 And what I meant to say on my original post was there were 2 swims and 3 of us, after we'd booked well in advance..that was the killer Quote
tinribs Posted May 30, 2011 Report Posted May 30, 2011 1 session, I caught on a 6 pieces of corn rigged on a short hair. No balance, no pop ups but fed over another anglers bait good luck Quote
