chog Posted January 5, 2007 Report Posted January 5, 2007 Can anyone suggest a good dark brown coated hooklink material? The bottom im fishing over is a mixture of clay and silt so its brown with almost a purple hue of it. The brown (blue-ish) korda lead clips seem to blend into and esp lead core just disappears into it. Cheers Chog Quote
tigernuttom Posted January 5, 2007 Report Posted January 5, 2007 sinklink is that colour but not coated! as for coated hooklinks i dont use them at all but the korda hybrid in brown ive heard is quite good! and the stealth skin in brown is very cammoflaged becuase the inner supple braid is coloured also. tiger Quote
chog Posted January 5, 2007 Author Report Posted January 5, 2007 Ive tried the stealth skin in brown but it is more gold and brown in my opinion. I hve also heard that the hybrid in brown is good but i just have reservations about anything coming out of Korda. Quote
kevtaylor Posted January 5, 2007 Report Posted January 5, 2007 I've been using the Suffix Heavy Skin (25lb) in brown, its great stuff - no complaints. Quote
shakey Posted January 5, 2007 Report Posted January 5, 2007 I use Supermantis in brown, but it is similar to what you have said about the Stealth skin, that it appears more golden brown than a choclate/dark brown. Have you thought about getting the pens/crayons that you can buy and colouring the rig material to the brown that you want Quote
chog Posted January 5, 2007 Author Report Posted January 5, 2007 we have already been colouring in. Kev what colour is the heavy skin? Quote
courtz Posted January 5, 2007 Report Posted January 5, 2007 I've been using the Suffix Heavy Skin (25lb) in brown, its great stuff - no complaints. Suffix also make stealth skin which is suited to fishing over silt Quote
pezza Posted January 5, 2007 Report Posted January 5, 2007 esp strip teaze mate. Although the supple part turns white. Quote
chog Posted January 5, 2007 Author Report Posted January 5, 2007 Suffix also make stealth skin which is suited to fishing over silt Ive used it and its a great hooklink but its black Quote
davidrkirby Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 the new ESp strip teaze doesnt leech the colour out, Ive done very well with carp and barbel over clay, silt and gravel bottoms respectively. Its also very user friendly and the best of all the "coated" braids. Quote
salokcinnodrog Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 What about Snakebite Gold? The inner core is Supersilk which takes on the colour of the Lakebed Quote
