  1. The lake will not be open before 2009 mate. The lake is owned by cemex, but the fish by Barford. Last I heard barford needed to arrange to net the fish, not sure if it has happened yet. RMC (cemex) have no plans to re stock the lake for a while.
  2. Ringland is closed and will be for at least another year.
  3. Totally depends on what rig you are using and what you want to achieve, most people have it so it has a slight curve.
  4. I always use them mate and never had a single problem with them.
  5. esp strip teaze mate. Although the supple part turns white.
  6. Mate if you haven't brought the solar one yet don't bother as a wine cork is perfect.
  7. Can't really help you then mate as I don't really know any easy waters this time of year. Although the weather is pukka at the moment so there's a few that could be worth a try. How about Pentney near Kingslynn is that near you?
  8. Mate there's loads in that area. Are you closer to Norfolk or Suffolk?
  9. If it's gravel you are fishing on I would use a 2oz inline lead, 3 or 4 inch of strip teaze, with a Raptor size 7 hook. Don't think there is a right or wrong answer to this question tho mate, just trial and error to see what works best for you on that water.
  10. If I was going to Holland the last thing on my mind would be fishing
  11. I don't use braid for my pop ups. In fact this year I have only used 3 hook link materials. Esp stripteaze, korda IQ soft, and drennen double strength for my zigs and floater fishing.
  12. Oh yeah you need to strip a few inches of the outer coating off, use your teeth. Strip it back enough to make a hair, whip round the shank of the hook 6 or so times, and leave a little bit left so the hook can turn nicely. If that makes sense. lol
  13. We have all got to start some where mate. Go to your tackle shop and pick up some esp strip teaze, I use 15lb in green. It takes on the colour of the lake bed mate, and blends in nice. I use a nice size 7 esp rapto D7 hook with it make. Pukka combo.
  14. So you are using fluorocarbon at the moment and want to give braid a try? Why don't you try a fluorocarbon coated braid such as esp stripteaze
  15. Yeah your right the water is very clear, stalking them would be the way forward I reckon. Not sure on how many are actually in there, some say 8 some say 10. Proper challenge.
  16. I'm right near the top of the waiting list, reckon I'll be on there next season, or the season after. Can't wait. All those lovely blanks to look forward to. lmao. Your right tho Armo' it's around 6 acres, and there is all ready over 30 people on the list. The lake is the jewl in Norfolks crown tho. IMHO
  17. This year is the first that this lake has been changed to season ticket only, with limited places (12) this lake is going to be very popular with the lucky few to get a ticket. If you are interested in this lake get your name down for a place in the future as a waiting list is in place. This 5 acre lake has some very special residents residing in it’s depths. This water gets very weedy each summer and most of the fishing is restricted to the margins, this explains the size of the carp within it. The carp known as “Single scale” is now topping the 40lb barrier! This water is the hardest on the complex but the rewards are there to be had.
  18. I use 6 foot usually and I join it to the main line with a needle knot.
  19. Or if you are not sure try the new esp leadcore rigs, they are quality and not to pricey either.
  20. Singletoner the 4 x 30's you are talking about do you know what fish these were?

    best hooklenth

Thats impossible to answer mate. If you are fishing on gravel you can get away with useing a short hook link, but if you are fishing say over silt you will need a longer hooklink.
  22. How's it looking down there mate? What did Bob say has been out? I'll probably be down there again this winter as there is one or two fish in there I still want to get.
  23. you could try contacting Richard Bung I think he is the local expert.
  24. I've done it I've finaly found a hook I'm 100% happy with. I've tried so many differant hooks on the market and most just have not been up to scratch, untill now. ESP RAPTOR D-7. Belive me these hooks are quality, I'm well happy with them.
